measure the wheelbase as normal, then turn the bars 180 and measure the wheelbase again. If the rake is the correct 40mm then the wheelbase should be 80mm shorter

if you had some thin string/ fishing line, tie it to a pen, thread it down the centre of the steerer tube, tie a weight to it, measure from string to drop out?
i found a pic, they do look strange

I recently sold a set of trialtech forks, the buyer messaged mr to say he thought they look bent so he measured the wheel base then put his old pair of forks back on (also trialtechs) and he says there is 20mm difference.
Is this possible? I was under the impression that they would crack/ snap before they do that.
You knowledge would be helpful, thanks

has it actually chopped the end off? as above the risk of infection is high and could potentially fatal. There is a free 24 hour vet line which give free advice. i dont know the number though.

My friend wants to switch from a bmx to a mod. The two frames that work really well for this are the because simpie frame especially the old model with the bent downtube and the new fans frames. Problem is I can't find them anywhere. Does anyone know where I can buy them or have them for sale? I can buy the fans frame directly from easy-bikes but its pricey and usually cheaper from a distributor. Does anyone know any distributors that have them?
I would normally say trialsparts.net but there is a dispute against them in the disputes section.

theres always another day! i find if when you cant do something and it becomes frustrating sometimes leaving it and coming back later or the next day helps. I find the more you do it and fail it turns into a mental block! when he does make it he is gonna feel good!
Isitafox, have you tried rolling stuff now your on a 26? ive just started getting it and really starting to enjoy it.

The thing you could and definitely should practice on your current bike is the track stand, it's the key to all other moves.
With regards to bikes, in my opinion most trials bikes aimed at pure trials are still good for street, but the higher end frames have a potential to snap if you bash it a lot. 24 inch frames like the zoot and inspired are good for Danny mac style street but a beginner will find hopping on the back wheel hard compared to a high bb short chain stay frame.
If I was you I would go with one of the echo full builds, they are cheap for what you get and are still strong.
Don't be shy from ordering from tartys either, there reputation is second to none, and the staff are very helpful too.

Think you need to put threads like these in the beginners section.
Onzakid has got it spot on mate, it's easy once you done it. Make sure you do the drive side first then square off the wheel with the non drive side.

All trials forks do it eventually, how old were they roughly?

It all depends on what sort of trials you want to get into really. trials frames are normally really small to increase stand over height, the geo of the frame is wehat you want to be looking at really.
