Slipping Brakes

Hey,

At the moment i am having problems with my brakes (v-brakes) on my mission prodigy.

Every time i lean back with them on (getting into the position to hop) they fail to work and the bike ends up going backwards.

Does anyone know what i can do to them to make them better?

thanks

Jack

Make sure you have enough and the correct washers on the pads the brake needs to be in a \ / Shape when not pressed also loosen pads, hold brake in and tighted them back up so they are flush with the rim...

Make sure its not too loose and you dont have to pull it all way in to bars to make it work.

My best bet would be that you have still got the standard Tecktro V brakes that come with missions and to be frank thats probably why. I would suggest that you purchase a new V brake possibly and avid brake off chain reaction cycles.

If you still have a problem with slipping brakes you could try and add a booster to your brake as this will take away any flex there may be in the brake as it flexes against the frame. This will make the brake more powerful and it will hopefully grip the rim with more force and the brake will hopefully not slip.

Or you could just get some tar off ebay and put a grind on you wheel. Probably you've tried that allready :-
