Adam-Griffin Posted February 13, 2008 Report Share Posted February 13, 2008 Recently i received an avid BB7 in a Trade, it arrived today and i just opened it and had a look, it seems as though the round bit that pushs the pad on the side with the arm on isn't connected to the rest, is this normal? if not, is there anything i can do about it ? Performance ,as you can imagine, isn't altered and surprisingly doesn't cause any "spongyness" (tryed and tested Oddessy cable and cheapy Raleigh cable used on bb5, Shimano XTR on bb7 - all fine)Don't worry about it Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

basher Posted February 14, 2008 Report Share Posted February 14, 2008 Not to sure what the problem is, but under the pad adjuster on the arm for the moving pad, just pop it off and theres a nut i think its a 11mm spanner and check thats tight. psycholist Posted February 14, 2008 Report Share Posted February 14, 2008 It has to act to retract the moving brake pad when you let go of the lever, so look for suitable notches/holes in the brake arm and the caliper body to correspond with this requirement and the shape of the ends of the spring...
