How Can I Fit A Gyro To My Bmx?

Recommended Posts

I have a mutiny sinister BMX (frame obviously). It doesnt have gyro tabs, and id like to fit a gyro. Is it normal to do this:

Also, looking at gyros themselves (im looking at getting this http://www.sourcebmx.com/product/components/bmx-brake-cables/snafu-mobeus-gyro/7551.shtml) none of them seem to come with the upper plate? Where do I get these plates and will any plate work with any gryo?

Thanks

Sorted it yet? Leistonbmx on here likes his gyros, maybe ask him.

As far as i know (never used a gyro) you can fit a lower gyro plate under an external headset. If you have no holes for removable gyro tabs and have an integrated headtube then you will have to drill. Friend did that and it worked fine.

As for top gyro plates, any will be fine as long as the headset can compress. There's a few alloy ones on the market.

Get what Phill suggested if you have an external headtube.
