26" Rear Rim Choice...

Alright people

Looking for a rear rim Upgrade at some point in the future.

Currently running a echo 44mm rim that comes standard on the 12 Piranha. Compared to previous experience a few years ago when I used to ride, I'm not confident in this rims ability to hold a grind... They don't seem to last long and I've tried a couple of different pads. Looking to upgrade maybe to a trial tech either spot or Sl, any feedback?.

Is there any particular gospel way to grind a rim, because mine brake always makes the Desired sound and lock when rolling backwards haha. Very frustrating. Either I've lost the

Knack of it, Or my rims cheese :P . I can't seem to settle on a pad that I feel il stick to, but could be the rim or grind. I'm going to try a grind without removing the tyre or tube and see if that helps.. When i grind the disk is rotating away from the centre of the wheel if that makes sense, so the burr is on the outer edge.

Any comments greatly appreciated as I'm still gathering long forgotten tips and tricks, Cheers guys

I think mines a tr not but standard on the piranha it's only 44mm wide :( . And no matter which way I grind, always works better backwards :@

Going on the tartybikes brake setup video, you need to set up your brake better - it should make the same sound going both ways.

TRs are among the best rims Ive used.

Mine always held a grind really well.

Make sure your using a new disc on your grinder.

45 degree angle, little pressure, fast sweeps over your rim.

Perfect sharp medium grind that will last.

Add LGMs and you'll be laughing.

Insane braking power.

Little tip to you guys.... chamfer your LGMs like the Beleay counterparts. They make them even better.

For some be green tnn pads to try. And will try a fresh grind with a new disk. Pads are always square which is why I'm stumped. I'm using an echo brake if that makes any difference?. I do recall the magura to be a bit less spongy though...
