Echo Sl Headset Movement.

Hi there, i have an Echo SL headset which has ALOT of play with the Cannodale HeadShox Fatty forks i have. The forks don't for some reason fit flush in the headset and if i hold the front brake then it moves forward and back a lot...

Could anyone help me in how this could be solved?

Thank you in advance.

If you get a photo of it we might be able to see if you have something missing. Was it ever tight? Or have you just put it together and it rocks from the start? If it was tight at one point but has become loose, undo the 2 stem bolts that hold onto the steerer, tighten the topcap bolt just enough to stop the movement (don't go nuts, the forks should still be able to move nice and freely) then tighten up the stem bolts again.

I am at college at the moment, when i get back i will post up a pic for you, i bought the bike on Saturday and if i tighten it then it stays nice until i pull on the bars and then it comes loose again, i am new to this so i may be missing something?

Right, fixed my problem with my loose headset... the front fork was cracked and was bending back (hence the movement). Snapped them in two when out tonight and had to repair it... new forks on now = problem solved! No more loose headset.

Thank you everyone for your help!
