I have been using v brake for quite a while and I don't think I could go back to Magura now. There is no maintenance! And awesome power too! The front mudguard, I put it on to embrace the "mountain bike" look that the Norco Manifesto frame is going for. And it provides some coverage for the mud and road salt going up, but it is more a protection for the fork stanchions from being too covered in mud. There is no room for a rear mudguard though.
