Setup tips for a giant trials mk3 (The one with the curvy tubes)

Recommended Posts

Hello all, never posted before but read many on here. This place has taught me a lot but could do with a bit more knowledge.

I brought this giant frame cheap ages ago but I’ve never really felt comfortable on it. I’ve pieced it together with spares just to get me by but it’s more the bar and stem combo I just don’t feel is right,

currently running a 110x10 deg stem with some inspired high rise bars off another build to get me by, am I right assuming cause it has a fairly low bb I should be slamming the stem and should I be using a longer stem maybe a 130? Could just do with a few pointers on how best to set this up any help with this would be much appreciated. Thanks Tony! 🤘

Run what you brung brother. Don't stress about this or that or what, just get out there and ride it. Soon you'll start to find the limits of the set up with the moves that you're trying. If you feel you're bashing your thighs on the bars then a longer stem might help. If the bike feels like a dog to pull up to manual, maybe its higher bars you need.. Try and connect with the bike and it'll tell you what it needs.

Thanks for the reply Ross, yeah I probably just need to spend more time on it. I will say everything feels better on the lower side, I think it’s meant to be ridden more on 2 wheels than like a pogo bike. It side hops from 2 nice but from rear it feels horrible, but with more time it should feel more natural.
cheers again for the advice! 👍🏻👊🏻
