Tomm Posted February 1, 2005 Report Share Posted February 1, 2005 Best plan would be to clear the CMOS. This is done by fixing a jumper on the computer's motherboard and then turning the PC on. This wipes any of the info stored by the BIOS and your motherboard will roll back to default settings. All good. There's a jumper on the motherboard. Read your motherboard's manual for the exact place and what to do, because I can't be arsed explaining... If the memory size is wrong and you haven't changed anything (like added more RAM), it could be bad. I think what's happening is that something has changed (maybe a corrupt memory module) and the CMOS now doesn't understand. If you can find any settings for "Memory test at startup --> (Turn that) on", or perhaps "Enable quick test --> off" Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
tomturd Posted February 1, 2005 Report Share Posted February 1, 2005 Also try switching the computer fully off to get rid of any electricity which might be sitting in there and messing with the chips. Im no hardware expert by the way but turning off at the wall sometimes works for me (Y) Also try loading the optomized defaults in BIOS.
