bitemybutt Posted March 9, 2005 Report Share Posted March 9, 2005 Hiya, ive tried to measure the wheelbase on my 2002 MAD and if im doing it correctly then its about 1050mm, which blatantly isn't right as its shorter than your average garden worm. :turned: Anyway, if someone could point me in the right direction as I would like to buy a new frame but need to know roughly how much longer any potential frame is gong to be. Flip the bike upside down, align the front wheel with the downtube, and measure axle to axle, centre to centre. Measure from both sides of the bike, it should be the same. Forks will change the wheelbase, some are longer than others, some have more or less rake than others, etc. Just to add, and I know this doesn't make that much of a difference, since front hub spacing is narrower than rear hub spacing, your measuring tape will read a longer distance it will be triangulated about 18mm. :turned: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Which will be less of an error margin than if he's not got the forks straight. 1050 does sound reasonable, depending what forks you've got, remember they've got very long chainstays too... Mike.
