i got a new guitar pedal...and i wanna power it with a mains adaptor...

the pedal says

Power Requirements

9VAC 1200mA minimum

my powersuppy says...

300ma3.6VAmax

and it has a choice of voltage settings...9v being one of them.

i wanna know...will my adaptor work? and what polarity will it need to be?

thanks so much..

ah..the answer was..yeah it wont do above 300mA

the 3.6 mean...

12v x 0.3 or something..making 3.6...heers the post

"That's the maximum power (watts) you can draw.

Power = amps x volts

At your maximum voltage setting (12V), and maximum current (300mA, or 0.3A) then the power drawn is 12 x 0.3 = 3.6 VA (watts)

ie. No matter what voltage you are using, do not draw more than 300mA AND do not draw more than 3.6 watts"
