Disk...help!

Recommended Posts

Disks need to bed in and it's normal for them to work like shit at first.

Either have a search and find out the various methods of bedding in a brake fairly quickly, or just pour some water over the disk and ride around whilst braking. Do it for a minute, then pour some more water over the disk and do the same. Repeat 4-5 times.

That will improve it's performance, yet you will still need to get a few hours of riding in before you get it working full power.

Doesnt matter wether its second hand or fifth, everytime you disturb the caliper or the rotor it needs a bit of use to get it back to normal performance. Get up a bit of speed and do the hardest stop you can. Repeat untill its working nicely. Try not to drag the brake too hard or you will glaze the pads.
