You wana get down your local bike shop mtae, I'm sure theyd build you up a wheel, the one near me charges bout 30quid inclucing spokes n labour.Haha yeah everyones gotta start somehwere. i know someone who had a monty 221 when he was kinda just beginning, lush bike to ride, like a pogo stick on the back wheel, anyways, but yeah hes pretty good now so maybe having a decent bike helped!? Duno really, just know i wanted that monty! argh|! lol!

The Hitcher
Yeah sure. loads of people i ride with use single speed and they all ride street and natural. I think quite a lot of people ride single speed but I prefer gears just cos im lazy and cant be arsed to go single speed. You could alway put gears on anyway if you dont like single speed. i find it harder to ride single speed as i like to change gear for different things, but it has its advantages as you havent got a derailer to destroy, which is a pain in the arse! I ride a mission reefer 26", its a bit shit as im proper scint but im slowly doing it up and going to buy a new frame when i have enough money. I find is just as easy to hope on the back wheel whichever bike, but some people find it more difficult, but mainly once uve got hoping on ther back sussed then you could do it on either.I havent seen that dvd, is it the one with ryan leech in? if it is ive being told its good, but look out the his dvd called manifesto, its just a crazy vid to watch , check out his site and watch some of the teasers! matt rushton
I wouldnt spend too much money on a second bike. Just incase you dont like the sport and change you mind. Have a look in the for sale and wanted area of the forum. I know you cant post in there but maybe you could add the seller to msn or whatever.Matt Rushton

Matt RushtonHowever buying a better bike earlier on will help you to learn faster, thats what I think anyway, I started out on a koxx levelboss mod (which I still have) and believe I progressed quite fast.
