Try All 108.9 Vs Tensile Freewheel

Hi, Had plenty of cheap Freewheels in the time i have been riding and all seem to snap after 6 monthes or less, i have the money for both of these freewheels but i am still confused or which is better and can take a hell of a lot stress

if you want a freewheel with 109 EP's, which will never ever loosen itself but you cant buy spares for it or take it apart to service it. Get a try all.

or

want one with 60 ep's which sounds louder, you can buy spares for but some have been known to loosen off like an ACS. get a tensile.

Most of the try-all freewheels i have ridden seem to be ok but dont seem to be very strong and dont feel great, plus all the ones I have ridden have skipped while I was riding them ( like having a go).

Tensile freewheels are great, i had one for about 4-5 months and was great, sounds mint, feels sturdy at the feet and has great reliability, it was sold on and is still running strong. Only a few skips I have seen from a tensile.

The price difference isn't a great deal and even though the try-all freewheels are more expensive, the tensile frewheels are great value and are relatively cheap compared with many other decent freewheels. I would replace the grease with a lube also to ensure greater feel and life expectancy.

I'd definately go for a tensile any day of the week .

i destroyed my try-all in 7 months, now bought an ENO trials and it seems to be great, its also possible to clean it without taking it off from crank, possible to clean tensile also like that

if you can get a little more money get ENO, if not then buy tensile

you could buy 2 tensiles for the same price of an ENO, but the ENOs have more parts available for them and rarely need repairing anyway. To be honest those 12 engagements make a very small difference when you're riding.

For the price ENOs are great, but tensiles are better.

Tensiles are amazing, look HERE. My mates try all skips when you are just pedalling along, let alone when you are trying anything.

Tensiles are pretty good freewheels and don't really cost an arm and a leg compared to some freewheels.

However my friend has one and it skips basically everytime we ride, so I think that has put him off getting another Tensile.

I'm currently riding an Eno, feels great but I don't really have much to compare to, its definately a vast improvement over a rear dicta freewheel, and feels a tad smoother than my mates Tensile, but maybe thats just me or because I'm used to my own bike.

I think Tensile would probably be your best option, cheap and easy.
