  1. Brilliant day and excellent new venue! Results are now on-line at www.biketrialuk.co.uk Watch out for the entry form for the 2-day trial, it'll be up there for on-line entries later this week!
  2. Not sure what that's supposed to mean, but it's actually sunny here right now!

    Venue Closure

I don't think it's to do with noise, I understand he has difficulty driving along the road because of all the vehicles he has to pass. Awwww.

    Venue Closure

I have put a news post up about this, but they take a little time to be approved and get onto that page. The 'reason'? A man who is on the council has moved into a house along the road. His reasons for wanting it stopping is because of all the traffic driving along the road. I am in conversation with the local motorbike club discussing what could be done to appeal against this decision, and TykeTrial will be having a meeting to discuss further. An on-line petition is likely to appear in the next week or so.

    Venue Closure

Devastating news for trials riders, both BikeTrials and motorcycle trials. We have just been informed by the landowner of Addingham Moorside that he has been instructed by Bradford Council to close the venue; to put a notice up to tell people they can't go in, and to chain the gate - for at least 12 months. Now this has been going on for a long time, with a court case and lot of letters - but now it's official and final after a letter received today. TykeTrial has been in touch with Yeadon-Guiseley Motorcycle Club who also use the land and are currently deciding what course of action can be taken. Keep checking this site for up to date news. Don't panic about events booked for Addingham, they can soon be reorganised, there is the more pressing issue to sort out first of trying to keep it open.
  6. A: Not until the BIU give written permission to remove this rule and/or remove it from the International rules. A: Yes, if that price covers the costs of the requirements of running the series. As you well know, last year the British events made a loss at some competitions and only just broke even at others. We don't aim to make a profit, merely to cover costs and provide suitable facilities at the events. Blackpool for example needs many more facilities, because of public safety issues, than any other event. That event could not be run for a £15 entry fee; it is impractical to expect it to do so. A: Yes, and we will pay it 5 months late, just like the Kelly Farm trial last year was paid late, so that individuals have to pay for the annual trophies out of their own pocket until the money arrived. I will add that TykeTrial donated £2,000 towards the World round, as well as paying two years' levies in advance, as well as organising many fund-raising events, including demos, raffles, etc. TykeTrial has more than contributed towards BikeTrial in this country and will continue to do so, albeit possibly through another route. A: Yes, just as BikeTrial UK always was run until November 2006 when you and the ACU overuled BikeTrial UK to enforce a change of rules against the wishes of the majority of the committee. A: Yes, as they always have done and will continue to do so. A: We always have done, do now, and always will do. A: We will run the rounds that we want to run to the proper rules as dictated by the BIU. If you want to use them as one of your series, we will be very happy for that to happen. But as long as UK BikeTrial go against the BIU Constitution by staying under ACU domination, then we will not be part of that. We are very happy to work for the good of the sport and that is what we are doing. We have always been a major player, provided the highest membership, the most active administration, and supplied the majority of funding in that "perfectly good series and organisation". BUT WE ARE NO LONGER HAPPY TO BE PART OF AN ORGANISATION (the ACU) WHO OVERULED A DEMOCRATIC PROCESS. So this has absolutely nothing to do with you having become a member of the ACU Trials & Enduro Committe early last year? I find it strange that prior to then you rarely attended BikeTrial UK meetings and rarely applied for your ACU permit through the correct channels. Everyone else stuck to the BikeTrial UK / ACU rules, but not your club who simply went their own way - and when other clubs complained, your retaliation was to 'get rid of them'. Now please, all we want to do is to run events for our riders. We will not be forced or bullied into becoming affiliated to the ACU; we will not be forced or bullied into making our members buy an ACU licence. TykeTrial's large number of helpers and our high number of members and riders show that the system we work under is benefitting the sport. Our insurance is not inferior as you keep suggesting. If you want to use any of our results we are happy for you to do so, and this is why the "National" events are being run strictly to BIU rules so the option to include them remains open. If you don't OK. But let us get on and do it, and do it for the riders, not for the ACU. Regards TykeTrial PS. You keep referring to Fred Savage and TykeTrial together. Fred Savage has absolutely no connection with our club.
  7. Brilliant day - thanks to everyone. RESULTS HERE See you all at Bracken Rocks on the 15th.
  8. We booked the TykeTrial British Championship round in October or November, filled in the BikeTrial UK application form and sent it off, booked the Brimham venue, booked the toilets, booked the food van and all the other arrangements. Just last night the club got an email .... Dear Mr. Buck. There has obviously been a great deal said over the last few months between all parties involved. Now that everything seems to be moving towards a resolution and we have had a chance to reflect on everything, the Committee of BikeTrial UK would like to ask TykeTrials to consider hosting/running the British Championship round in 2007, with so much going on and with so many Clubs wanting to run a round of the Championship I would like to take this opportunity to say that the committee would very much like your Club to run a round and that we are in the process of trying to find a date for your Club. If you have a couple of dates that you know of when you could host a round we would be grateful if you could let me know, will do our best to fit all the Clubs in. It has never been any ones intention to exclude any Club in the UK and we will continue to treat all clubs in an evenhanded manner. With so much being said over the Internet we feel that it is time that all Clubs should pull together to and sincerely hope that your Club will accept our invitation. We look forward to your positive response. Yours Sincerely Phil Tupman (Secretary BikeTrial UK) You're confused! Is this some kind of joke? The date and venue was agreed. It is already booked, why do they want to "give us a date"? The response from TykeTrial is that when the Chairman returns from his holiday, a meeting will be arranged to discuss the Committee's response.
  9. 75 pre-entries ... THANK YOU! Late entries will still be accepted on the day. See you there.

  13. Completely new venue, new types of rock, new sections! The venue is just 15 minutes from the M6 and really easy to get to. The closing date for pre-entry has passed, but we do accept entries on the day and day memberships. Give it a go! Details can be found here See you Sunday.

    Oakworth Quarry

Remember the wet and muddy trial back in January? A brilliant day with 95 riders! We're there again this Sunday (9th January) and hopefully in the dry this time. You can enter on the day again, and day membership is available. See you all there.
  15. Results for both events are now available on www.biketrialuk.co.uk
  16. The Committee at TykeTrial want to thank everyone that took part in this two-day event. The Fun Trial on Saturday went really well, with everyone taking part in the spirit of the event, getting along with their team-mates and just having a great time and a good laugh. Even our "roaming observers" enjoyed the day! We had loads of new members who've promised to come back for more ... and we even had several oldies having a go, with other dads going to have a go next time. Members of the winning team of the day "The Power Rangers" won a copy of the Trial Noir DVD each, with booby prizes for all the other teams right down to "Barbara's Angels" coming in a spectacular last! The highlight of the fancy dress riders just had to be the hairy-chested streaker who rode in his wig and underpants all day; with the two elegant ladies in the blonde wig, helmets and grass skirts coming a close second. I am sure that someone will post up pictures in due course. Many thanks to our 'Trials dignatories', Heather and Karen, for judging the fancy dress, unfortunately we don't think that the prize of 56 pounds (of potatoes) was appreciated!!!!!! Michelle and crew put on a really good spread of food for us on Saturday night; and better football was deemed to have been played on the field than on the TV! The bonfire was much appreciated to keep away the midges as the evening wore on, and provided a welcome source of light while observers and helpers demolished their 'thankyou' wine. Bacon butties for breakfast made a good start to Sunday morning before the extra riders started turning up. A very brief shower temporarily made us relieved that we had the marquee to shelter in - but within minutes it turned out that we were sheltering from the sun and not the rain! It could take a lot of people several sleepless nights of sunburn pain to get over how amazing the weather stayed for us throughout the weekend, a very pleasant change from the usual wind and rain we get at events. All in all, a great weekend, brilliant riding, brilliant atmosphere, impeccable behaviour and just great fun. Thank you all. TykeTrial
  17. Nearest train station is either:- Harrogate (about 10 miles) - bus to Summerbridge (about 1 mile uphill to venue) Skipton (about 15 miles) - no bus route
  18. Do you really think we're going to search you all and take your phones and radios off you ?! Yes if you get the form to us asap!
  19. This is sounding good! But, some of the regulars who have got used to entering on the day, have not sent their pre-entries yet. If you want to join in this event and have not sent your form yet, please email it to "tyketrial@biketrialuk.co.uk" before mid-day on Friday. WE WON'T BE HERE AFTER THAT. You can then pay Barbara on arrival. Information here By the way, we have sorted out the football and they will be playing at 5.00pm instead of at 2.00pm. (NO RADIOS OR MOBILE PHONES ALLOWED ON SITE UNTIL AFTER 5.00PM!!!)
  20. Go on - enter both days! Saturday's just for a bit of fun - the sections will probably be quite easy and give you chance to practice and get used to riding in a comp ready for the one on Sunday. Saturday night should be a good laugh too and you'll get to know other riders!
