  1. As specially requested by observers who were fed-up of standing in the wind and torrential rain at the top of Lee Mill Quarry, the final venue of the year has been moved to Branshaw Quarry at Oakworth, near Keighley. Ok, it rained there last time, but at least there is some shelter from the wind and it's not on top of the moors! And it's an excellent, ever-changing venue with big rocks, and sections for all abilities. So, even though it's late, get your entries off as soon as possible - you can enter online now from the events page. If for some reason you can't do it online or get it off in the post on time, please send your name, age and class by either emailing trial_entry@biketrialuk.co.uk or by text or call to 07850 505298. As a special end of year event, why not bring along a few friends to have a go at comps? For this last event there will be no day membership fee, and no charge for on-the-day entries (although please don't wait, do it now if you can then we can prepare). Hope to see you all there on 6th November!
  2. The seventh and final round of the Tyke Trial club championship will take place in a few weeks, on Sunday 6th November. Although we had planned to hold this at Lee Mill Quarry, we are currenty looking into a venue change for this round, so although we want to make you aware of the event, and entry forms are available, please don't enter until we have confirmed the venue. We will let club members know by email (with an entry form attached) as well as putting the venue information up on the site. This is our last event of the season, so it would be great to see as many faces as possible before the winter break!
  3. As the title says! Download entry form here OR Enter on-line here and Pay on-line here Weather's looking good - should be a really good day. Hope to see loads of you there - all ages, all abilities.
  4. The fifth round of the Tyke Trial club championship is on Sunday 4th September at Penistone Country Park. Entry forms have been sent out, but please contact us at membership@biketrialuk.co.uk if you haven't received one, or if you aren't on our list or would like any further info and we'll send you a newsletter, entry form and any other info you would like. You can enter on the events page on the website, by either paying via paypal and filling in the online form, or by downloading the form and sending it by post. Hope to see you there!
  5. Paperwork has now dried out and had the mud washed off, all the results are on-line. Great day, great venue, well done to everyone.
  6. The fourth round of the club championship will take place on Sunday 17th July at Branshaw Quarry in Oakworth. Entries have been open for a while, you can enter and pay online or download the entry form and enter by post. Head over to the events page to enter! Hope to see loads of you there! Tyke Trial now has a Facebook page where we will be posting news, info, results and photos. Check it out and click on like
  7. That's a shame - we were looking forward to seeing you. Ah well, next year, as you say! Only two days until the Tyke Trial Open Weekend and Team Trial! There are some great prizes up for grabs from the likes of Tarty Bikes/K-124 and Trialtech Components, Aire Valley Cycles and Kenda! Just email us at info@biketrialuk.co.uk to let us know you're coming and sign up and pay on the day - easy! Hope to see plenty of you there! Bring your friends!
  8. THIS WEEKEND! There's still time to get your entries in, so if you're already a member, bring some friends, and if you're not, come and join us for the weekend, we'd love to see you!
  9. It seems that there's a problem with emails bouncing back from the tyketrial@ email address. We're looking into it, but in the meantime, please send your entries for the Brimham open weekend and team trial to info@biketrialuk.co.uk. Matthew - It would be great to see you there on the Saturday!
  10. Hi Everyone! Brimham is going to be its usual fun weekend, and this year we want everyone to come along and bring at least one friend! Open to non-members so hopefully it should be a good social event. So very sorry it's taken so long to get the entries sorted, but we ran out of time to prepare all the entry forms, on-line entry etc for Brimham, too busy organising the two-day in Fort William! Anyway, as its next weekend, please read all the information here, then simply send us an email to info@biketrialuk.co.uk to let us know that youre coming, and how many riders are coming with you, also how many guests youre bringing (ie mums, dads, brothers/sisters, girlfriends etc) (to help us plan the fun comps, prizes, and food). Then when you arrive at the event bring them all along to see me, to register and to pay (£20 per rider to include 2 days riding, camping, and food on Saturday night) (£3.00 per guest for camping only). The only hiccup is, if anyone under 18 is coming but without their parent, you need to print out this parental agreement form, get them to sign it, and bring it with you. All done hope to see loads of you there! The Tyke Trial Committee
  11. On the 11th and 12th June, the Tyke Trial club will open its doors to non-members for their famous annual two-day event at High Wood Farm, near Brimham Rocks in North Yorkshire. This is an extremely popular event, with the Saturday seeing contests, activities, training and master classes, dinner, the club’s annual awards ceremony all followed by a bonfire, with a competition on the Sunday. This year’s event will be slightly different, not least as for the first time it will be open to non-members. Sunday’s trial will take a different format to the norm: riders in teams of four (one rider from each of the main classes – elite, expert/cadet, intermediate, novice/primary) will compete over two laps of eight sections to be the team with the lowest total score at the end of the day and take the overall win. Teams will go around together, in the hope that the younger or less experienced riders can gain from the experience and talent of the elite and expert riders. There will be some fantastic prizes up for grabs for the top three teams, with spot prizes to be awarded over the course of the weekend, so it should be a fun and competitive event. Riders can submit their own teams, provided that they stick to the one rider from each class format. If there are any teams who struggle to find a rider for every class, they can submit as many riders as they have and the empty class(es) will be filled at random from single entries, giving everyone the chance to take part in the team element of the competition! As usual, entries can be made online on the Biketrial Federation's events page, or by post by downloading and printing the form and sending it off. Entry for the event is £20 per rider, which includes riding on Saturday, camping, insurance, entry to Sunday’s competition and food and drink on Saturday evening. Entry to Sunday’s competition only is £10. Entry forms should be available soon; the deadline for entries is Thursday 9th June. Here is the schedule of events for the weekend: Saturday 11.00: Venue and sign on open 13:00 onwards: Burger van open for food and refreshments 11:00 – 18:00: Free riding – make the most of the fantastic natural sections that the venue has to offer(helmets must be worn at all times). Various contests (high jump, speed section, etc.) throughout the day Training/master classes/etc. 18:00: Burger van will provide food and drink for riders who have paid to enter the event. They will still be providing the usual sandwiches, burgers, etc. for non-riders and families and hot drinks will be available for as long as they are needed! 19:00: Tyke Trial 2010 awards ceremony 20:00 onwards: Free riding; Bonfire Sunday 08:00 onwards: Burger van open for breakfast 09:00: Control/sign on open 10:15: Pre-trial briefing 10:30: Team Trial begins 15:30: Sections closed 16:00: Awards ceremony

  14. Yes, the proper food van will be there, spoken to him today. If you're worried about going right to the top you can park on the roadside just inside the metal barrier gate - as long as you leave room for other vehicles to get past (ambulances etc).
  15. There's some special instructions about parking - some travellers are camping where we usually park apparently! See the website for instructions www.biketrialuk.co.uk Yay ... all pre-entries get to drive up the hill instead of walking from the bottom!!!
