  1. Just providing Callum with the answers to his question. It was easier to copy and paste the previous responses than to type it out again Everyone is welcome - just over a week to go!
  2. Cool, be good to see you there! Hi Callum, this has already been answered when you asked it elsewhere. See below.
  3. The sixth and final round of the 2012 Tyke Trial Club Championship will take place in just over two weeks at Harden Moor in West Yorkshire. Entries are now open and can be submitted either by post (print off and complete the entry form and send it to the specified address along with your entry fee) or online via the events page (pay by Pay Pal and then complete the online entry form). The deadline for pre-entry is Thursday 15th November - please get your entries in before this date to allow us to make all of the necessary preparations and to save us unnecessary admin and work on the day. We do accept entries on the day, but these are subject to a £5 late-entry fee. If you are not a club member, don't worry, a one-off day membership is also available for £3. As it's the last round of the season it would be great to see as many of you there as possible - it'll be your last chance to compete until next year! It's a great venue too, check out the photos on the Tyke Trial Facebook page (and give it a like while you're there) or to get an idea of what you can expect. There will be sections for all abilities, and you can change categories on the day if you decide that the one you have entered is too easy or too difficult. If anyone has any questions, just drop them in here Hope to see plenty of you there! 12-TT-6-HardenMoor.pdf
  4. No problem, just come along, come to control and sign up! It's a great opportunity to have a go at a comp, and because of the "team" bit of this event you'll get put into a team with a few others so you'll get to know regulars, and what it's all about. Great fun! Don't worry about the weather - just put some waterproofs on! Besides, the riding's in a wood and we have a marquee so there's loads of shelter! Hope to see loads of new people there.
  5. We have some great prizes for the winning teams supplied by Trialtech and Tribal Zine.
  6. The landowner's just confirmed that it's dry enough for us to go ahead this weekend Come on guys, pre-entry closes on Thursday at 7.00pm!
  7. Despite the torrential rain ... forecast So get your entries in now!!!
  8. Waiting for all your entry forms to come pouring in ... it's always a fun weekend, and you don't have to be a club member! Enter on-line here then Pay here Hope to see loads of you there!
  9. So sorry you can't come down Kevin, we'd no option on date to get it in before the weather got too cold (as opposed to too wet)! This does replace the Lee Mill Quarry event, more info next week.
  10. TykeTrial's Brimham 2-day event re-arranged at last Having just spoken to the landowner again, the TykeTrial Club has got the go-ahead for the previously postponed annual 2-day event at Brimham. The land has finally dried/drained off after being totally saturated for most of the summer. The event will be held on Saturday / Sunday 29th and 30th September. Watch out for more information and the entry form on the website next week.
  11. The TykeTrial Committee are very sorry to announce that the 2 Day event at High Wood Farm, Brimham has had to be postponed. After discussions with the landowner it seems that the land is so saturated, and with further rain forecast every day this week, that it would be impossible to get vehicles onto the land - and even harder to get them off as it turns into a mud-bath. With heavy rain forecast we're sure that no-one wants to have a social fun day and soggy social evening and barbecue in torrential rain! It's been agreed that we will watch the forecast and land condition with a view to re-instating the event as soon as possible. We just need summer to arrive! Those who have already entered and paid will receive a full refund immediately. Please watch the Biketrial Federation website carefully on a regular basis for information on the new dates. We really are sorry for any disappointment, it's an event we enjoy arranging and enjoy attending ourselves and we know that a lot of riders look forward to it; unfortunately the weather has said that it's not to be this weekend
  12. The annual Tyke Trial fun weekend and open team trial is drawing near! This year it will take place on the weekend of 14th & 15th July 29th & 30th September at High Wood Farm, near Brimham Rocks, Yorkshire. Open to non-members, this weekend is the highlight of the TykeTrial year. On Saturday, we have a relaxed social ride, along with a few small contests (high-jump, speed-trial, etc.), followed by the presentation of... the 2011 club trophies. A massive barbecue has been arranged for this year, followed by a bonfire and social evening for the parents and a lot more riding, football, etc. for those with more energy! On Sunday we have the annual Ben Carlile Memorial Trial, a team fun trial which will also be counted for club championship points for members. EVERYONE IS WELCOME - BUT WE NEED YOUR ENTRY IN ADVANCE PLEASE. As the barbecue menu is very extensive, the chef needs to know by the previous Wednesday how many chops, pieces of gammon, chicken, kebabs, mini-steaks, sausages, burgers, salad etc to prepare! The entry form is now available on-line from the Events page and is also attached to this post. Nine year old Ben Carlile left us almost four years ago, a dedicated and enthusiastic young rider. Brimham was his first, last, and favourite venue and TykeTrial will be remembering Ben, and other friends and riders who have left us, at this event each year. To remember Ben, the club will present its annual award the Ben Carlile Memorial Trophy. His dad Kevin will be coming along to present this award to the rider whose enthusiasm for the sport has done most to help and promote the club in the last year. TykeTrial is opening its doors to friends, family and other riders, and you do NOT have to be a club member to join in the weekend. We hope that everyone will come along, take part in the spirit of the weekend and have a really great time riding at this world-class venue! www.biketrialuk.co.uk/events.htm 2012-TT-EntryForm-Brimham-TwoDay.pdf
  13. Round three of the Tyke Trial club championship is this Sunday at Branshaw Quarry in Oakworth. Entry as usual via the events page or by printing off and posting the form. Entries will be accepted on the day, but will be subect to the £5 late entry fee. We will be phoning those who usually receive their forms by post tonight or tomorrow - apologies for the short notice. Hope to see you there!
  14. Don't forget - this Sunday - 15th May. Late entries will be accepted on the day so hope to see loads of you there. Please don't email as both Ben and Barbara are away from home now until Saturday night (not together!!!). If you need to contact the club ring 07850 505298.
  15. The second round of the Tyke Trial club championship will be held at Addingham Moorside in North Yorkshire on Sunday 15th April. Addingham is an excellent venue with some incredible terrain and saw the BIU World Championships held there in 2005. There is sure to be some spectacular riding from the top riders, although and with classes from primary to Elite, riders of all levels will be able to take part and have fun! Due to Barbara being away during the week leading up to the trial, the deadline for entries is Monday 9th April. You can still enter online and pay by PayPal between now and then, however, and we will be accepting entries on the day. Both options are available on the Events Page, here. Cost of entry is £10, and you need to be a club member to enter. Full membership is £10, although if you've never ridden a comp before and would like to try it out, a one-off day membership is available for £3. Hope to see loads of you there!
  16. Results now on-line, well done everyone! www.biketrialuk.co.uk/tyketrial.htm
  17. We always do the results there on the day, usually within 10-15 minutes of the last rider coming in, then we present the medals to the top 3 in each class to take home with them. (The only exception of course is if the weather's REALLY bad, we might wait till the next trial then, but I think this has only happened once before!) The results tend to go up on the website within a couple of days, and emailed out within the week with the entry form for the next round. Looking forward to Sunday now, lots of new riders coming along as well as the old. See you all then. PS: We don't confirm receipt of entries - if you've sent it and paid, you'll be on the list, don't worry about it, just turn up. Entries will be accepted on the day for an additional charge of £5 (punishment!). For this first round, even though it's past the closing date you can still enter on-line up to Friday night at the latest. HERE

  22. Hi Everyone, As many of you will by now be aware, the Tyke Trial annual general meeting will be held this Sunday, 22nd January, at 2pm. Apologies for the late notice of the venue, but we've had a bit of trouble sorting one out. We wanted it to be somewhere close to Shipley Glen so that people could come for a ride in the morning and then come along to the meeting afterwards. So, the meeting will be held at 2pm at the Acorn Inn in Eldwick, about five minutes' drive from Shipley Glen. They have very kindly reserved a few tables for usThe address is The Acorn Inn, The Green, Eldwick, BD16 3AW and I've attached a rudimentary map to this email with directions from Shipley Glen (follow the red line!). This is an open meeting for all club members and interested parties and we would like to see as many of you there as possible to have your say in the way that the club is run, our events for 2012, and anything else that you would like to talk about! See you there! The Tyke Trial Committee.
  23. Entries very very soon please ... writing the punchcards TONIGHT!!! Hope to see you all on Sunday.
  24. You don't have to be a winner - spot prizes to be earned throughout the trial !
