  1. look, this debate is blatantly never gonna be resolved because of difference in musical tastes. and thats cool, each to their own, but... ive been producing hip-hop for a few years now and it sure as hell aint piss easy! Imo hip hop takes just as much time and effort to create as rock or any other "band" based music. Put it this way a rock group can get together plug in their stuff ***, whereas hip hop is much more precise execution. You have to find a a sample which you think would make the BASIS of a tune cut it to length, usually timestrech it to fit a beat, which you have to create, thinking about which snare/hi-hat/kick drum ect sounds right for the song, then you may want to add synths and stuff, which may need effects put on them, so you have to find the right one etc etc. And all of this has to correspond with the mood and feeling of the lyrics! trust me it is a long and lenghthy process. Oh, and we do gigs with live drummers/percussion/female vocals, and thers a shite load of other hip hop groups who do. (check out www.fingathing.com for some downloads, when they gig they use an electric double bass and its awesome!) Anyways thants my rant to try and persuade the narrow minded people on here that hip hop is a little more than just "MIX MIX MIX" people just THINK before you open your mouths  Rob
  2. mavic, in all fairness, (and no offence is meant by this) i think you do begin to appreciate other forms of music when you get a bit older. Rob
  3. well said that man. decent hip hop is just a form of poetry.
  4. thats really f**king narrow minded. :D personally i listen to a bit of everything; i appreciate music for being good within its particular genre. i love good metal, just as much as i love good hip hop. no offence but it seems that the "segregation" of groups of people musically seems to be more with the younger generations on this forum. Im more into sampled hip hop, eg RJD2, Dj Shadow, Yoda, Deltron ect. Not a big fan of the electronic US scene, but it does have some good areas as with all genres. Rob
  5. Who said that there was a REGULAR foot in trials. ive allways thought left foot forward was goofy but meh. its all down to personal preference, and one is no better than the other Rob
  6. ah, started off back in 96 when i saw a really old hans rey vid called "the wheel deal". I was more into dirt back then but started doin trialsy stuff with my mates at school. Then i saw the Marty/ins in mbuk and decided to move into "the trials scene" i didn't realise other trials riders even existed in those days, so i just rode with dh ers and bmxers, it was pretty amusing. Although the dhs got a bit peeved when i kept stopping on downhill runs to ride the logs at the side of the track! :">
  7. yeah good call. Id be up for that. :-
  8. i like seven allthough im not too sure about the serif typography, i really likr the verctorness of 10, the flat coulours work really well. Kinda stencil'ish. so id be inclined to go with that one. :P top designs all the way though. Rob
  9. funnily enough i might be interested. ive pmd you. :ermm:

  12. A collection of photos taken by me and Dan at Watergate bay. It was a sweet day for January! (im riding dans bike in the last couple cause of my buggering chain) The photos were cross processed by mr Pearce himself, so theres no photoshop malarky goin on!
  13. yeah, unfortunately we didn't set the card properly, so theres little jerksevery few seconds, but im sure its pretty easy to get around.
  14. used a capture card on my mates pc.
  15. yeah truth be told i really miss riding like that, bit of everything like. now i'd be hard pushed to do dirt jumps on my bt! ah, ive inspired myself! im off to re-build the giant! :) The riding is all from shropshire, bar the skatepark which was newport. The trails are some we used to waste entire summers building in my local town. Think they're gone now
  16. yeah sorry bout the quality. glad you enjoyed it. keep the comments cumin!
  17. Right. Ive managed to uncover this little gem. Its a video i made about 4 years ago before there really was a trials scene where i lived, so i just rode with bmxers and dirt jumpers and this was the result. the quality aint bad but it was made on a proper old skool vhs camera, so apologies. although the riding aint uci, i still dont think its shit nearly 5 years later, but d/land tell me what you think. 66mb 5minutes long music is "shoot down" by the Prodigy and Liam Gallagher http://www.trials-shack.co.uk/bigman/trials%20vid.wmv ps. yes newport skatepark is an absolute skag den. :-" enjoy the old skool. man that bike was heavy. :( :( (cheers to bigman and trials-shack for the hostage)
