  1. Too much slomo in my opinion! You only fitted in 2 things into a minute and 15 seconds!
  2. You have recieved a new feedback. Below are details concerning the new feedback. Type: Good Rating SummarySpoke to him on msn the same day and he paid straight away, great. Given By: Tommy d You were the: Buyer Date: 1189193472
  3. This morning while I was out riding, my rear hub started making a bit of a worrying noise, somewhere between rattling and scrunching... The last thing I did before I noticed it was a drop, but not an especially harsh one, done it before many a time. Nothing happened right then, and then as I was riding away down a hill, when I got a bit of speed I heard this really bad noise. The wheel was spinning fine though, and after I stopped to have a look and found nothing, it went away again. Any ideas what it means? I'm planning on pretending it never happened cos I'd rather like to ride London on Sunday and I'm half way through filming for a video. The hub is about a 3 year old Hope XC, been serviced once about a year ago when I had to replace the axle. Any useful info appreciated.
  4. Good skills and everything, but it was just the same old moves every time, I'd like to see something more interesting or unexpected in a video...

    New Ipods!

I'd be up for an iPod Touch episode of 'Will It Blend?'
  6. This topic seriously cracks me up! You're all F***ING WIERD! Kind of makes me feel good to be less wierd than some of you! Keep them coming though, it's quite addictive. As for me, umm, if my hair is at just the right length it will form funny concentric circles: Is that wierd? I can't think of anything else... Can I just say, moles aren't actually that wierd! And I think that blinking at sudden sounds thing is just a reflex, pretty useful one if you think about it, some people just have it more than others.
  7. Haha funny picture, wouldn't work so well on a side hop, you'd probably smash your knee on the wall!
  8. Just thought I would add that if anybody wants any free bike bits, or front maggies (not free) then I can bring them to this ride. As long as it doesn't pour with rain. It's all here: http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....p;#entry1355213
  9. Crikey, another one. Good song, but unfortunately if you use it in a trials video I will instinctively think of this video: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=zzdLE2BctEs Which, I should note, is of vital educational value to any trials rider! And something went horribly wrong in the sound quality that made it sound like it was being flushed through a toilet... let's not dwell on that though... Anyway the riding! It was good, I liked the variety of different stuff and you seem to develop remarkably fast. I'm sure you'll get it anyway, but when you drop, it helps to let the front end get a bit lower before you go off and then push the back end down towards the floor, rather than just leaping off the ledge and staying still in the air. You may need to aproach the edge a bit slower though. And I couldn't help laughing at the leaking maggie. Sorry!
  10. So once and for all: (though no doubt I will miss some) Pros of gloves They help protect your hands from injury They help you grip the bars if your grips get sweaty They keep your hands from going numb in the winter They might help stop you getting blisters They make you look like you mean business Cons of gloves You have to keep paying money to buy new ones when they wear out They make you heat up more They give you hilarious tan lines They may fail to help stop you getting blisters They make you look silly They get really smelly I'm done
  11. Nice one I enjoyed it, really liked the riding and the choone went nicely too.
  12. Thought the video was quite cool, interesting soundtrack... Riding was aite, I liked the climbing bit too. Needs more longer lines though. Made me laugh!
  13. Makes me feel smug as a non-grinder Anyway, just out of interest, could somebody who does grind (and rides quite a lot) tell me how long their rims would usually last for? I'm just curious really.
  14. When I saw the topic title the obvious answer there is 'all the time!'. More helpfully, I would say make sure you've got some carbohydratey stuff in you before you ride just to keep you going with energy.
  15. You're not the only one! Sometimes the younger ones point and gawp when they first see it, but usually they get over it pretty quickly . I also went to a few big rides on my dirt jump bike when I was frameless, and that was no different either.l There's always a fair bit of that about, you won't be alone. Yeah I think most people are. It's just a bit of a laugh at the end of the day, if it doesn't rain most people are happy! Edit: Yeah, apart from Kennard I guess. Beware!
  16. That was a really nice video and great riding, just wish it had been a bit longer so we could see a bit more of each rider, but I guess that's what you get with a using-up-old-footage video... Does that mean you're not planning to make any more? (Correct answer here is 'Yes actually there will be much more glorious 26twenty in the future!)
  17. a ) bit of a pointless topic... b ) If you were prepared to raise your bid at the last minute, why didn't you just put that amount in the first place?
  18. I use the oldest pair of trainers I have, so that the soles are thinnest and I can feel the pedals with my feet nicely. Don't fancy shelling out for special 'trials shoes' when I can just use stuff I already have! By the way, I think there are other topics about this, might be best just to use the search function in future... Oh, and lots of trials riders use platform/pin pedals, not just cage ones. Just another personal preference thing.
  19. Sorry, can't get your link to work. I can't help thinking that the two topics you've made could just as easily have been one single topic... just a tip for someone new.
  20. I reckon the most important thing (or one of them) when you're starting out is to have someone else to ride with, preferably at a similar level to you. It really helps.
  21. Just wanted to say I thought my Saracen MAD (05) was great... For £200, any full trials build is great, so just upgrade bits individually when they break!
  22. Shouldn't be "what's the highest drop you've done", it should be "what's the highest drop you can do smoothly" if you ask me! Doing bigger drops than are comfortable is a bit silly cos it will break the bike and yourself, even if your name's not Poopipe. If it's higher than my head I tend to give it a miss.
  23. It might help to learn to lift the rear wheel on its own first, with the front wheel still on the ground, without using the front brake. Just so you get the hang of pushing backwards on the pedals. So ride slowly forwards and try and lift the back wheel without using the front brake. You have to push off with your feet (as if you were just jumping on the ground with no bike) to shift your weight fowards a bit, and at the same time point your toes down and push your feet backwards and upwards a bit. That should lift the back wheel. If you've got that then hopefully it will be easier to do it when you're up on the back wheel.
