  1. Videos like this make me so happy! Such great riding, shows what street trials should be like. I loved the neverending lines and the crazy lines that most people would never even see. And where you did a funny little hop from front to back across some benches that you couldn't quite bridge... Genius, never seen that before! Really well made video in general. And I hope you don't mind me laughing at your pain cos the bails video was hilarious! You have done trials a great service by making this video. edit: In fact, I think you should be knighted!
  2. Yeah, there's gotta be really... The universe is well big! Even if it's only the tiny tiny proportion of places with the right conditions, that's still going to be loads of planets with the right stuff. Could be really spread out though so doesn't mean we will find them. I'm not really sure I'd be up for us meeting other intelligent life anyway. We'd probably give them AIDS or something and wipe them out by mistake. And they might think completely differently to us, something we think of as a friendly gesture might be offensive to them.
  3. Don't know if it's convenient for you, but I'm riding ramsgate tomorrow morning/early afternoon with Gilly. We're basically going so we can do some bits of filming, but we'll be going to quite a few good spots, I'm sure you'd be welcome.
  4. I'm finding it the other way round for a change... I'd rather be living at uni than at home, and there's more riding to be had at uni! But uni holidays are like 3 months so it's overkill really...
  5. Not the kind of thing I could ride but it looks pretty sweet I have to say.
  6. I would say VERY, but I prefer to think of it as fun rather than old school. Looks sweet to me. I would
  7. There I was thinking these ceramic D521s might be rather nice when my current nackered wheel gives out, and then I found out it's £45 extra! Maybe not!

    Maths As/a2

I found maths GCSE really easy, got A* in year 10, but A level on the other hand was really hard. I worked loads for it and scraped an A, was meant to do further as well but that was way too hard so gave that a miss! I'd say if you want to do engineery stuff at uni then it's worth working hard for the maths A level, but a word of warning DON'T do a gap year cos I forgot my maths so quickly! p.s. if you're any good at maths A level, you should be able to breeze through Physics A level. At least with edexcel. Physics was the easiest subject I did, way easier than chemistry and half of it is just maths anyway.
  9. Seems like a good idea to me. I found this well funny:
  10. Quite impressive riding, just that 95% of it was pretty boring... do more interesting stuff! Longer lines!
  11. Good man! Now where's this new one you keep mentioning?!
  12. I think it's been explained now but grinding increases the friction of your brake because you get a rougher surface. So yes it can give you a more powerful brake. I don't think it's necessary though, and the same with tar. Tar tends to ruin modulation, so you will be able to lock the wheel but not let it slide in a controlled way. Sounds horrible too... Grinds will wear down pads faster as somebody said, and obviously your rims won't be as strong after several grinds as you're taking material off. Smooth rims can give you a plenty good enough brake, whether it's a V or hydraulic, as long as they are well set up, with good pads, no dirt on the rims, and a booster if necessary. p.s. If in doubt, squeeze the lever harder...
  13. Really doesn't sound like a good idea to me. If you have trouble with pinch flats, use downhill tubes and beefy tyres, if you still have trouble with pinch flats then your tyre pressures are way too soft!
  14. Yeah I think it would. Just have one marker per spot, would be crowded on the UK view but work much better when you zoom in I reckon. And I think it should be possible to have a picture and a caption for each spot, I think currently you can only do one or the other, at least I could...
  15. The Tartybikes link doesn't seem to be working at the moment, it goes to Film For The Future on youtube instead... Someone want to upload it?
  16. In that picture it's in the exact central pane, imagine the head of a woman who is leaning over to the right a bit, she's got bushy hair. Haven't watched the video cos it looks well long... I don't believe in ghosts, but I can still get scared if I'm on my own and there's noises! The human mind does crazy stuff...
  17. Narrow rim that's light and strong? EX721?
  18. Cool vid, shame about the low quality. First half was more my kind of thing, whole video was nice and chilled out though.
  19. What is it that you find bad about it? What moves are you finding feel wrong? I don't think people can just tell you a stem cos it's all personal opinions etc.
  20. Haha interesting soundtrack! Cleverly combining 2 songs that have been used 'once or twice' in trials vids before... Just out of interest did you find it somewhere or do it yourself? Anyway this time I'm going to watch the riding! Mmmmm wasn't my kind of riding I'm afraid. One move per clip is boooring. Wierd song got you a free watch though.
  21. I'd say competition trials is, but street trials isn't. At least, not just about jumping on/off/over stuff, obviously it's going to be in there, but with street it can get much more interesting.
  22. Nice! I really liked that, I'd say someone needs to sabotage his ko more often if this is the result! Nah only kidding but this vid is cool, nice mix of stuff, nice lines and sweet streety stuff
  23. I think the best one out of them was Tom, but basically they were all the same! Even the same riding spots! Why didn't you just do one video with the best bits of all of them? The other thing I would say is one move per clip gets really boring... Longer lines...
  24. Well the main reason I haven't just popped it open to have a look is cos it's effort! Have to split the chain or take the cranks off, and usually the lockring puts up a fight... Anyway it's all coming apart soon so I can sort my frame out, so I will have a nose around in the hub and see what I can find. Hopefully I can just replace one of the bits you've suggested. Cheers for the tips.
  25. I did enjoy that, especially at first, but then it went a bit drop gap mental! Just put one or two in rather than 10 in a row... There was some really good stuff going on so just don't let it get boring!
