  1. hello, today my brake was re-bleed and when the brake is pulled both pads come out and stay out, i don't know what the problem is, is it that theres too much fluid in my brakes? i can push them both back in but the don't stay in. Can anyone help? I've used the search and couldn't find the correct answer. Tim.
  2. hey lewis, add me to msn-tgh_101@hotmail.com i can ride bath anytime, but i dont know any good spots Tim.
  3. hello, If your forks flex and have a crack in and your still riding then your really dumb mate. have you found a crack in them yet or what? Tim.
  4. Hi, I see you ride bath allot as you live there I live just off bath in trowbridge, tell me when your riding and ill come up to bath. i rid there 2 weeks ago and i found nothing at all in the city centre! cheers tim.
  5. yes but are you forks or headset creaking? A mate of mine (gr8grumble on the forum) had red try-all bars which he said they where creaking a few days before they snapped luckily he wasn't 10 foot up or he could of been in hospital, one of you could be doing a 6 foot gap from 10 foot high... land... forks snap fall of wall...neck snap...dead? better safe than sorry. Tim.
  6. Hi, Its a possibility thats its a crack, have you ever landed harshly on both wheels, had a nasty bail where you put lots of pressure on the forks or bars like dropping off a 6 footer landing on the front wheel and staying on the bike or done somethign stupid with a trials bike like dirt jumping etc etc. if it creeks check it. Tim.
  7. Hi, I think that is such a good idea, think about it you could use spoons for a few things on bikes... A spoon brake booster, 2 spoons, drill holes in the ends of the handles of the spoons and in the cups then put the spoon cup undermeath the magura bolts, join the two spoons above the brake hose by putting a thread in the drilled holes at the end then just stick a screw or bolt in the thread. if your low on money then try the spoon booster. 2ndly... A spoon vee-brake (only the left hand side though) drill a small hole in end of the spoon handle, don't even need a thread in just bolt it to the 2 bolt brake mounts, then drill another hole in the spoon cup the size of the little nipple so that the wire doesn't slip through, then you have to put 1 or 2 springs across the wire so that the spoon can spring back when you let go of the brake. sorted with a spoon vee-brake. someone has to try these. Tim.
  8. hi, If you hear a creaking in your forks or headset its usually a crack! DON'T RIDE. you must check for cracks so complelty take off forks and check them. If you don't find a crack it could just be your headset loose or something, also check your disk bolts are tight it may be that your disk has a little bit of movement on the hub mounts? I have a magura luoise fr and i dont think it will rip the forks apart. this also happens to handlebars they creek... they snap! seriously check or could be a very nasty accident. Tim.
  9. Hi, Nice one silent, about 4 weeks ago this kid was a dodgy trials rider and now he has so much more balance on the back whee!, i couldn't believe it when i watched the video. hes improving so fast and with the better bike you'll soon be owning your area! you've got to buy a helmet though rather be safe than sorry, anyway keep it up! Tim.
  10. Hey, nice vid there, you have a rather streety style of riding which is awsum to watch. brilliant editing aswel whoever did it! keep it up BUT wear a helmet or buy one if you don't have one! Tim.
  11. Hi, okay il keep them, thanks for advice guys you've stopped me worrying so much cheers Tim.
  12. hello, yeah thats where they snap, monty are stupid they drill 9 holes in there forks and one of them is in the steerer which I think is ridiculous. how many cases of them snapping has been on the forum, is it regular for them to snap? cheers Tim.
  13. hello, At the moment i'm running monty 221ti forks and i'm starting to get very worried about them snapping, i've seen a few pictures of monty 221ti's snapped, how easy do they snap... i don't ride big, 5-6 foot drops and 5-6 foot gaps. would my forks snap soon? I heard there natural riding forks not street and i don't like to ride natural, theres no signs of them snapping no dents and they don't creek when allot of pressure is on them. is it a certain trick which gets them e.g tyre taps? cheers tim.
  14. Hello, I much prefer the dry weather but do like it after a heavy downpour the night before to make the place nice and cool for when we ride, also i have plazmatic crm pads and they don't work good at all in wet weather. and if your using tar its best to keep well away from wet weather as rain and tar doesn't mix... tar becomes like oil and very slippery then making your brake extremely bad! dry weather tim.
  15. Hello, If you want an immense brake then i think you should go for plazmatic crm pads, i run the crm's on an 06 echo rim, light and sharp grind, best slightly worn and a smidge of tar. also the pads have a very good wear rate, i got told with my grind that the crm's wouldn't last 2 weeks but its now been over a month and there is still three quarters of the pad left! if you set your pads up properly and your pads aren't hitting the rim and funny angles then your brake will be really good, then you'll get Maximum bite and stopping power. you could of just used the search, theres proprably 1 of these topics on every page! plazmatic crm pads, light sharp grind, little tar. Tim.
  16. hello, I use a smidge of tar on a heavy ground rim and it gets worn off in about 2-3 hours, its best just to keep applying it, you cant really control how fast it gets worn off. just keep applying Tim.
  17. Hello, I think you should go for the 06 echo rims, i am running one on the rear and i think they are very light and very strong, they are not too expensive either, £35 I think. You can also get them in really nice colours, red would suite your bike nicely. Tim.
