  1. They were shut after a take over by, I believe, Gas Gas.

To the bloke above, give tartybikes a ring about a bash, I'm sure megamo bashes weren't that different from others apart from being steel. Otherwise, get one made, it's a shame to let a good bike sit idle for the sake of a bit of metal.

  2. This is all academic cos the nicest sounding engines don't run on petrol or diesel :P

Ignoring that, anything other than a sodding straight four. A ducati V-twin perhaps, or a sixteen litre Scania, something with a syncopated beat like a galloping horse.

  3. Right I'll get looking when it isnt so dark. Not too bothered about the licensing business because it's got continuous history from the time it was changed to a V8, I'd just like to know why some bits don't fit very well :P

p.s. will the mot man worry about door pillars on the bulkhead? they're a bit religious.

  4. Does anyone know if there's a number stamped on the chassis of a series two, and if there is, where it might be? Similarly axles and gearbox, none of my books are helping :( Most of this motor appears to be series two but its had a bloody hard life and a lot has been replaced over time, it'd be nice to get straight with what's what.

  5. I thought they replaced your job with computers years ago?

Even in a power 'box, you still need to swallow a book of rules the size of the bible to tell the computer what's wanted and check it isnt making a cock up. Likely he's in a manual box if he's got time and privacy to bugger about on tarty :P

Bloody frozen points, I spent most of yesterday clearing snow from them, then got back on a nice warm footplate and all the snow on my cap and coat melts and went down neck :(

  6. Grease will not prevent your threads from stripping. It will keep them from seizing. Any grease is fine. If you are doing bearing repacking, however unlikely on a trials bike, Phil Wood waterproof grease is hands down the best, most long lasting stuff ever. Copper is most useful for Ti bolts which like to seize to other metals. To avoid stripping, refrain from using ham hands.

You're right, it wont stop threads stripping out from sheer force, but in my experience brake mount threads usually tear out due to friction and grease will most certainly help. Molybdenum for preference, lithium is fine, copper tends to grind away at aluminium in threads that are often adjusted like brake bolts.

  7. Lovely job, bit of preparation and it all goes so smoothly :)

You did better than us, the old engine refused to come upwards out of boumsong's scirocco, so we dropped it on the floor and lifted the car over it. Words like "Is this safe?" and "be reet youth" were exchanged B)

  8. Just started a apprenticeship with E.ON. Awesome company, im on 10k for my first year and it rises 2K every year. Free medical, very good pension scheme, lots of possibilities to move up in the company. Really happy.

Any idea who to talk to within your company about training and apprenticeships? I'm going to be out of a job shortly and I wouldn't mind being in the power industry.

  9. bus drivers

almost been knocked of my ped twice these last 2 days, even saw a car drive up a kirb to avoid a bus last week aswell. they just dont give a shit when pulling out. yes they have a huge vehicle, but that doesnt make it thier right of way to pull out in front of other vehicles!

    c**ts

They sort of do have a right of way, there's a rule in the highway code that you should give right of way to them when it is safe to do so, especially when they're pulling out of stops. Just apply a bit of logic to it: if there's a bus ahead of you and he pulls into a stop, see if anyone is standing waiting. If there is then he'll probably be stopped a while and you can make it past. If he's just dropping off then its usually a quick halt and away again, if you try to beat him there's a fair chance you'll be alongside or even in his blind spot when he signals to pull out.

  10. +1

getting butchers to kill animals for you to eat, is about as justified as hiring a hitman to kill someone

Murdering animals should become illegal...."killing humanely" is a contradiction in terms

We all need to eat, not all of us require the services of a hitman. I accept we could all live as vegetable botherers to save the animals, we could all live in mud huts to save the planet, and we could all kill ourselves to save the poor defenceless oxygen we breathe, but personally I don't think extremism in any form is acceptable so I shan't be topping myself any time soon.

  11. Okay you are just being repetitive now guys, so you think people that drive huge cars have a small willy,

and so in the same thinking, all people that drive modified hatchbacks are pikeys.

From my observation the only appeal to modified hatchbacks is to get a fast car for cheap.

When YOU grow up (Ben Im 4 years older than you), (some of you might have a decent amount of funds) and you will realise that money is better spent on a newer, better built vehicle that serves more purpose than just speed. Hence why your mummies and daddies dont drive chavmobiles.

I dont mean to be harsh about that matter, but I was trying to start a discussion, and expressed a genuine interest in why someone

with some level of intellect would want a modified metro for example... and I got back a response worthy of a dead slug.

But hey, I guess thats what I should expect in a topic on supercars in a trials forum!

And on a serious note, no, I wouldnt actually get an F650, because it would be a pain to park and fuel consumption would be poor.

But hey, its different, and I think its cool. And thats why I put a pic up. If you want to mouth off, go and do it at a teabag or something,

and lets just see pics of peoples fav supercars whether they are big, small, ugly, slow or beautiful.

    Thanks for coming (Y)

They ain't a pain to park, you just need to be a driver rather than a steering wheel attendant.

  12. I hate people who say this..

What does intellect and feelings have to due with ones value to live?

Does a person with an IQ of 152 have more right to live than people who have a lower IQ? don't think so..same goes for animals.

An animal is a living being, it has as much right to live as any other being.

I actually find that animals have more right to live than humans, animals rely too much on their instincts to be "evil" (some exceptions for smart animals like chimps), as opposed to humans who can commit sins in several ways. Humans have done this planet no good, I think it would be alot better if the species which live on their instinct only existed here.

I might sound a little like an extremist but i'm not :P just my opinion.

Its a very idealistic argument, but doesnt hold true in a devolved society such as ours. You want to ride bikes, drive cars, use phones and computers, but left to your own devices you wouldnt be able to make any one of them from scratch. I could kill something and butcher it, but probably wouldnt make a very good job of it, my time is better spent earning so I can pay someone else to practice the craft.

  13. I had a street race with a Honda S2000 last night, and won.

Bishops gate to London bridge if you wanna have a look at the route/map. But basically, i was going too fast for him to overtake me, and it pissed him off so he screamed past me, i caught up a few secs later, he got stuck at some lights, i jumped them and nearly got laid out by a taxi, he again laid some rubber and went past me, but another set of short lights, gave me enough time to sprint over london bridge faster than i've ever been on flat, he got to the lights about 10m before me, 3 lanes, went out of my way to go past his car at the final set of lights, and off i went to the pub round the corner...

    Was epiccc.

As a matter of interest, why is it cunts like you can't wait for the lights to change?

  14. If a kid, for instance, is in a nursery and the assistant asks the kid to play with the white british girls, and the kid replies Does than then make the kid a racist?

    Does is f**k.

In my experience, said kid usually elaborates the statement with a few well chosen oaths and racist insults picked up from their parents. You don't throw your dinner out cos it looks bad, you throw it out cos it looks bad smells bad and tastes bad, similarly you dont scold a child for "No, they smell", you scold them for saying "No they smell, f**king milkys, wish they'd all f**k off". Nowt is as simple as the papers would like you to believe.
