  1. maybe worth taking a look at in case you're ever stuck in the lurch.....broken snail cam or snapped spoke tensioner etc. No I havent used it, but thought it could be useful Pinkbike linky
  2. Absolutely love my Sony HDR-SR12E...really superb picture quality, 100mins of battery life from the standard cells and I think 30mm lens size.
  3. To be honest, the urbans are probably your best bet on a budget. pretty strong, lightweight and reasonably priced. I run trialtechs, their only drawback being their length, and a few of my mates have the rockman spade's which seem to be holding up really well and have a geo far better suited to most natural frames. The orange forks are very short with a long rake I think? The SL's wouldn't be a good call i don't think. Not very strong at all. Straight blades and curved both end up being the same geometry, the rake and length is usually the same.
  4. No worries pingu my boy haha cheers man, had a good ride that day. Yeh man, im not sure where. Was contemplating newquay actually.
  5. Cheers man, have i met you by the way? thanks man haha he loved it that night...His new/first proper video will be out soon Sony HDR-SR12E. Can't recommend it highly enough..... Proper night vision more on the camera, as soon as it warms up a smidge ill make another night vision video as this one was so well recieved
  6. Of course i'd like to do it properly, I just don't have the means I do have access to a machine shop and im relatively profficient, so i reckon i could make something that worked if i had the tool in front of me. I suppose I could try and retro-engineer one from my hub? Arent they just an expanding wedge system that's threaded?
  7. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2732641701589174520# Dirt Jumper Jake , look above So I will damage it for sure? .. Has anyone had any success making a tool?
  8. Righto, basically I really need to give my King a service, been a few months since I last did it. So, I fancied pulling all it's guts out to get it properly clean, lube the bearings and slightly stretch the spring. Trouble is I don't have the tool, neither do I want to invest in one. No-one near me owns one, and out of the 2 bike shops ive asked neither keeps one. Is it actually safe to punch out the main drive bearing? Has anyone made a tool to extract the bearing? Does anyone living in Cornwall or Devon have or have access to a tool? Edit: I have used the search, and realise I CAN punch the bearing, just wondering who's actually done it, and if its worth doing. I assume if i tap it out slowly it should be fine?
  9. If you have a FFW, then keep it and get an Echo SL unless you can find a king absurdly cheap. I have ran FFw for about 2 years, and a king for 1..can't fault either of them, but FFw is by far better value.
  10. I personally wouldn't run Try-all / koxx.... i've snapped a pair, and i saw kierans go pretty dramatically. Trialtech, or urban on a budget.
  11. Thanksman, really means a lot! hah yeh, i managed to just put jakes bails in Haha the Atomz loves it, not even a dent.... Kept some of the best clips of me back for Coustellier Video 7 so watch this space
  12. Hey there, just finished uploading the final edit of the Plymouth night Ride a couple of weeks ago. This was an experiment really to see what the quakity of footage would be like with decent settings, and i think it turned out pretty well personally The edit isnt amazing, but I was pushed for time anyway. Hope you guys like it anyway, any comments RE the filming, editing etc are as always more than welcome Alex
  13. Hopefully buying a new frame, getting new rear rim to match the front whel ive just bought Happy days
  14. Hey there, just a quick question as im trying to work out the length of spokes for a new wheel build, has anyone got the ERD of a rear Onza Ronnie 26" rim? Cheers, Alex
  15. I think you should just choose whatever looks pretty to be honest, youre just shooting down whatever anyone actually suggests anyway.
  16. I've just finished spraying my h0le rim, and some maguras. Ill chuck some pictures up shortly.
  17. i cant, was sent as a gift...hm any other ideas?
  18. Right basically I paid someone off here £60, but i sent it to his old paypal account that he doesnt use. He has lost the old email address password and the paypal password so cant access it. Paypal say that i can only get a refund if the payment is unclaimed or the other party issues a refund At work all day tomorrow so cant call them, and the email link just sends me round in circles trying to resolve the problem. PLEASE HELP !
  19. Ah right Cheers matt... ah thats pretty clever, stops it running to the bottom as well i guess. Cool, well i think that would be worth investing in then Ill have a browse on the bay
  20. Is it really worth using acid etch? How much is it?
  21. Literally just about to spray my front rim ( try-all hole ). Stripped it down to bare metal, was going to spray 3 coats of primer, 2 of gloss black, 2 of satin black. Then 2 of lacquer Nice light coats, and make sure the rim surface is nice and clean before you spray. Make sure the rim is hanging up too, makes it a huge amount easier.
  22. haha was just about to say something along the lines of that. Loud freehub would be something like a Pro2? But they do strip ratchet rings.... Loud freewheel screwed onto a fixed hub would be a tensile cleaned out or an SL echo
  23. The tyres on the stocks are just kenda kinetics, and the mods look to be the echo luna tyres?
