  1. Trials magazine... a uk version is now available from some newsagents or direct. Mainly Motorcycle trials but usually a couple of cycle features as well.. the website appears to be off the air at the mo but i will update if i find a new one.
  2. ... your not old enough mate over 40's only for at least the first 5 rides, then i won't look so much of a tit !!
  3. Just the front tyre to change now.... Revell fork has allowed me to fit the front disc now. Hiya Ben... all i have to do is learn to rode again now!!
  4. My first trials cycle was a Sunn Team issue frame.... 50 quid from the importer who did me a deal for some web space coverage. I built it up with mavic 121's and hope hubs and discs about 7 years ago or so... got the same wheels and discs on my giant that i have just got
  5. Give steve a call via his mobile number that is on his site... different year sherco's have different sticker shapes and sizes.
  6. It's getting a disc on the front as well... too many years of motorcycle trials means i just can't ride with cable brakes. All that stretchy feel of the cable is nasty.
  7. Hiya... no the gasser went 18 months ago. Beta man now, they stay together and ride the rocks better!! Hiya mate... still got my mates Beta have you? I put the rear disc on tonight and had a play on the drive.... 4 hops is all i can manage!!! Then in for a horlicks and watch newsnight Got to get rid of the front V... it's crap!! As it stands now... waiting for a Revell fork to turn up and then my hope hub and disc and mavic 121 will go on... anyone remember the mavic 121? about as rare as a seat!!
  8. Hiya.... there's 2 of us, just brought this and started to build it up. Mavic 121's, hope discs front and rear (got to wait for a set of Revell forks to turn up so i can fit the front one) ... project so far
  9. I have a complete set of Hopes that will be going on there soon.... left over from my last trials bike!!! No then... which sides the kick start...
  10. Just thought i would renew some old aquiantances... Although i started as a biketrials site for us mates to post pictures 6 years ago or so we all went back to motorcycles. Well, some of us over 40's are having another play at the cycle stuff. Anyway... news and updates will eventually appear on the R2w site, but meanwhile you can catch up with us on the moto side of things.. R2WTrials.....
  11. .... got a brand new Revell front fork on the way for it as well now. The whole bike with the Hopes etc is going to cost less than a £150... cheap diet i would say
  12. well, i did it. At the age of 42 i have come back to the cycle trials world!!! I stopped about 5 years ago and have been riding Motorcycle trials since but i have been putting a bit of weight on lately, and my balance isn't as good as it should be.... I know, i thought, biketrials will make me lose some weight and improve the balance and timing. Being very old school i just don't think bikes look right without a saddle!! .. and lets face it i am an old git with a slipped disc so i won't be jumping off huge drops so who needs all that clearence. So a mate, who's on here i am told, sold me very cheapely his spare bike.... a good old Giant. This is it as i have just brought it home leaning against my Beta rev3. It will get a full set of Hope hubs and discs, front and rear, and a different stem. I have mavic 121's still on my hope hubs but the rear at least will get a bigger rim soon. It will stay single speed with the Rohloff tensioner.... ... even better. 3 other members of our r2wtrials clan that are over 40 years old have also brought bikes again!!! Are we the oldest team in the country Team OGC... old gits collective!!
  13. I will be there this sunday for the British Championship moto trials round... if it is still on. Last time i went to Hook woods was back in the early 90's for a club trial, i gather there have been some changes
  14. Bet i would bend it... and never recover it!!!
  15. The guys that will make it are not the one big trick rider, or the 5 minute wonder who appears in a magazine once and then you never hear of him again... The reason the two Martins are still being talked about after so many years is that they put in a lot of work and effort and also give something back to the sport... I was motorcycle trials riding with Hawzie last weekend and he is a top bloke... He came down from a Demo ride the afternoon before up north to join us at a practice area in Gloucester for a play. We just had a laugh and he showed me how crap a trials rider i am ... but his enthusiam has made this 40 year old want to get a cycle trials bike again, just so that i can keep fit and practice my balance and hopping around for the motorcycle stuff. He didn't try and talk me into droping off a house or doing 360's over a park bench... just good old fashioned trials techniques from the real world. The names of Martin, Martyn, Hans Ray etc will live longer because of their efforts, not only because they were at the forefront of the developement of cycle trials in this country but because they put in a lot of effort and enjoyed themselves whilst making a small living wage from a Sport. Here is Hawzie last week...
  16. They complement each other... but if you look at the last 10 years of motorcycle world championships you will notice that many of the top riders have also been champions in cycletrials. The trick riding used these days in the sections at the top level can be directly compared to the back hop cycletrials techniques... I am about to become 40 and may be getting back into cycletrials to keep fit... I have a 300 gasgas for my main play toy!!
