  1. erm both really, where can i get these pads from.... Tarty? and how much are they? no worries found them. Would anyone reccomend the onza v daptors as i still have a v brake on the fron t and can't really afford to upgrade it yet so would this be a suitable upgrade for the time being?
  2. Well after putting my new frame together a week ago i finally today got around to trueing my rear wheel again so i can ride it. It's still not perfect but its rideable! Its been over a year since I was riding properly so i'm pretty much back to the basics ! Just need to sort my front brake out now so i can actually stop my front wheel, pretty much got the back one sorted but i think im in need of new pads as its not brilliant, struggles to hold a back hop if i'm not really squeezing the lever!

    Finally!

you would probably have been validated a lot quicker if you'd written this post when you signed up! But welcome anyway
  4. Very nice! Just got the same frame myself. Havent got nowhere near as good parts on it though!
  5. hhhmmm... i'l cross that bridge when i come to it!! Probably just shove it all on the floor then cry in pain in the morning when i get up and stand on it!!
  6. nope its absolubtely shocking!! gonna get some new pads for it though see if i can set it up a bit better. Got a HS33 on the back though so its all good. Might try and upgrade to a disc though then i can stick the maggy on the front!
  7. Well after having my new monty pr delivered last week i finally got all the tools i needed to dismantle my onza and but the monty together. Unfortunately i was on a tight budget what with uni and the car so i could only afford the new frame so am using the parts off my t-bird for the time being, Leaves plenty of room for upgrades though! Anyway here it is after i finished today..... just needs the rear magura four bolt brake mounts which should be coming tomorrow then i can start testing it and making the final adjustments!

    Headsets?

ok i'v taken the top piece out the forks and stem are off and i'v taken the bearings out. But how do you get the little cup pieces which hold the bearings out? Is it just a cas eof hitting with a mallet or is there an easier way? thanks
  9. Find a course you want to apply to at a uni then ring up the department as somebody else said and they'l be able to point you in the right direction. People still get in without going through ucas but the uni would rather eveyrone didnt ring up so thats what ucas is for.
  10. Just found these on ebay mate, they offset the brake mounts allowing a 19inch rim on a frame designed for a 20inch rim. Hope this helpsbrake mount offsets
  11. hi, just wondering if anybody had been or knew what st albans in hertfordshire's indoor skate park is like... ie. is it good for trials riding?
  12. don't bother mate, i had the same problem with my t-bird, was an absolute nightmare to set the rear brakes up, then i tightened all the spokes and it moved the rim away from the pads again so now i can't get it set up and have no rear brakes!! Ah well it was about time i got a new frame anyway. Plus when i did have them set up as best i could the brakes were still pretty crap to be honest.
  13. No offence but isn't it a bit stupid dismissing something because of the colour?? Thats like choosing a crap car over a ferrarri just because you don't like red even though its obviously a better car? I really don't see the point in this thread, its not getting anywhere and just seems like an excuse for all the pre-members to increase their post count?? If you have a problem with something then say why its not very good not just a topic full of post after post of i hate onza, mission's are gay! It's hardly welcoming new members if your slagging off bikes that probably most of the people in this section are riding!
  14. thats really good mate, whats the name of the song on it?
  15. i ride a t-bird but its going soon as the rear brake mounts have stripped so i can't really do anything on it now!! have a monty 221pr frame on order now should be coming monday!
  16. at the end of the day it's what you get used to riding and you could still become a very good rider on it but there are still much better bikes out there. nice car in your picture by the way!
  17. I learnt to ride on a t-bird and it was good but i wouldnt say it has excellent performance. I rode a t-mag shortly once and the whole setup of it just felt more comfortable than the t-bird.
  18. As above really i'v noticed in a couple of people's signatures they've got this and i was wondering if anyone knew anything about it??
  19. hey, il have a t-bird frame for sale soon, it will be going pretty cheap like £50 ish maybe less, i think it needs a rear brake mount re-tapping but apart from that its fine. I found it a good frame to learn on, after a year u'l probably want something difeerent so might be worth getting something a bit better. Up to you though
  20. Its ordered and on route my uni! woo....and.... i get a free t-shirt!! Won't be a brilliant bike though as i'm using the parts off my t-bird until i can afford upgrades!
  21. good riding mate.....was that a 205 gti I spotted in the background??!! Oh yer and just to join the bandwagon......Wear a Helmet!!
  22. ah it working now. Really god stuff there mate.... and your only 13??!!!
  23. ok i got paid and i can afford the monty 221pr so im going to order it when i get back this afternoon. Thanks guys for all the help! kev
  24. ok depending on how much i get paid tomorrow i'm gonna order the new frame, i think i should be able to stretch to the monty 221 pr. does anybody know if all the existing parts of my t-bird will be compatible just to get me riding again as i can only really afford to buy the frame at the moment but will upgrade other parts as soon as i can afford to. thanks
