What You Think Of This Disc Brake?
NileBrown™ replied to mountian goat's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
A good hope - about 50- 60 for the 05? one and above 75 for the newer one, a bb7 can be found reasonably cheap but it depends what it is ( caliper on its own/what cable/what lever) I got mine for free off Joe Maher lol but they can be about 40 quid or about 50 quid complete, and a rear hs33 can be bought for about 30 quid of you look places and pads are reasonably cheap also. -
What You Think Of This Disc Brake?
NileBrown™ replied to mountian goat's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Hmmm, im not sure on this one mate, I mean its not really a trials brake, more of a xc brake so mite not stop you sharply etc but im guessing you going for the cheapness, and the size of the rotor. Now if I had the choice, I would never anything made but that company, but thats my opinion. I would go for something like a bb7 or even a hope as you can pick these up pretty cheaply off here. But its up to you mate, I mite be completely wrong and could be a great brake! Does anyone have one of these? maybe they could help more? -
Errr I hope you don't mean me ash for being a Southend bellend! I think that me and simpson are pretty 'safe' as we don't go around breaking stuff or excessivly swearing.

My mate Nick (Nick Dale) has a echo team with all monty parts and he has a ground monty rim and it seems quite good and seems resonably strong, he's ground it a few times but im sure they hold grinds ok.

Front: Avid bb7 185, XTR cable, Avid SD7 Lever - works the nuts and im scared to pull it lol. Rear: Hs33 with Rb lever blade, Koxx Browns - Splendid.
-
They mite worp easier due to the softer material but then again, they must be even easier to bend back. Although I would stick to your current rotor.
-
There quite good with a grind on the front but im not too sure what they are like on the back - but im pretty sure they wouldn't long on a meaty grind, however I found that koolstops on a smooth rim with tar is a great combination.
-
Use the search matey! but anyway, you don't need to go to a place to get your rims ground! do it yourself or get a willing friend to do it for you:P Do you have an angle grinder at home? and a decent disk? well thats all you need. If you search for the instructional vid on how to grind your rims by krisboats, then that will help you greatly or just check out the wiki

When I was new to the sport I bought Ryan leeches 'Master the art of trials' DVD and was quite a good way to see how tricks were done and how I could use this to help my riding. You can buy the dvd from amazon or ebay but I think his videos are on youtube as well.

Super Bad - 7/10 Wern't a bad film at all, in fact was quite good but had a pointless plot - basically three guys who want to get booze for a party then get laid there overall, Was funny, definitlely not a film to go to with the parents and is aimed at young adults.

Saw this on the news and thought 'he was my childhood hero!' He was what made me want to do competitive driving. Rip
-
What I normally do is ride about with the front brake on, (like if you were bedding the pads in) and the rotor should heat up quite a lot and then use the spanner method. Just makes life easier thats all

My Steed (before It Gets A New Coat Of Paint)
NileBrown™ replied to NileBrown™'s topic in Bike Pictures
Yeah Its a Black Mumba frame - I bought of Nick Reed and I love it! -
...Or he could just do it himself if he has the kit as im sure he could follow the wiki when he needs a rebleed, or even if the m4 caliper is still in use, its just a straight swap

Was a great day today lads, managed to see a lot of new faces about and finally get to see what people are like in real life rather than talking to them on the forum! But some absolutely great riding by some of the riders today. Me and simpson counted 45 riders at the london eye and more were yet to come so was definitly a good turnout. It was just a shame that my bike was f**ked for most of the day so you probably saw me fixing my bike more than actually riding but did manage to do some. But most of all - I actually met up with fat pants, thats an achievement for me in itself! definitly can't wait for the next ride so Simpson, better plan another date!

Yeah does look nice mate - When I saw it in southend I thought it does look the sex, however is let down by that big saracen stem and bar so get rid of them and that really will be a lush bike
-
Sorry but actually lol - That bike is far too small for you! but yeah thats more of a techneque, once youve mastered that try backwheeling it and other methods of getting onto the wall and then move onto larger walls and work you way up
