  1. You have recieved a new feedback. Below are details concerning the new feedback. Type: Good Rating SummaryPayed quickly - great bloke Given By: nile71091 You were the: Buyer Date: 1186582734
  2. I do think that frame looks nice, I reckon its the fact that the deng companies are introducing lower and better geometry frames and monty have to 'catch up' by making this new frame. I think the frame looks good and mite even concider buying one when they are released in the uk.
  3. A mate of mine runs martas on his Monty pr and they hold well but the thing I don't like about them is the feel in the lever. They feel very detatched from the rest of the brake and are too easy to pull for my liking. This is when you compare them to the feel of a BB7 or a Hope. However you do get use to it, like any new brakes and once this happens they are a very nice set of brakes to use. However if you buy them as a pair on their own, they can be a bit pricy and would rather use the money to buy another option. Ie bb7 or hope mono trial.
  4. Damn Straight, I bought my freewheel off this guy(Quackers) I expect he ran it for a while and since I bought it, it hasn't skipped once. My mates have ENOs and echo freewheels and even they say theyre poor compared to the try-alls. I understand that ENOs are completely rebuildable but I'll still go with the try-all every time. Some people say the try-all freewheels are rubbish and blow up, well I ride with quite a lot of people and theres about 7 people who use try-alls including ,myself and they all think the freewheels are good and don't blow up or skip all the time. Another mate of mine, runs an echo freewheel and that skips about 10 times a day.
  5. ok.... Well basically on my non disk rear echo, my shell and bearings kept on moving along the axel. This was because the hub was designed to be used with snail cams on the inside and that would be used as a spacer. However because I have a Zona Zip, theres no snail cam screwholes which means I have to use tensioners. So, because the snail cam spacers were not there, it meant the hub would have a tendancy to move around along the axel. So one day, I busted down to my local wilkinson's and bought a pack of curtain spacers that would fit snug on my axel and it solved the problem That was a 39p bodge that actually worked!
  6. Yeah , just to say the eagle claws will probably be of similar quality to the old 2.7s but the eagles are 2.6 and are without the white line. They are also in stock on tarty and cleanbikes
  7. Wheres the play coming from? Does the shell and bearings move along the axle?
  8. Well I reckon they can't make it too strong as then it could be stronger than the Ti frames. It could mean that: 'When you snap your Pr, Upgade to a Ti!' ,which maybe monty want? I don't know But yeah I do understand that Montys need to be stronger, even though they are comp frames.
  9. My mate dan cracked his Monty Pr (DAN MORE on the forum) he got his replaced under warranty but I don't know where he bought the bike from brand new, As some shops may have different rules of warranty. But he got it replaced free of charge so I reckon if you still had the reciept for it, you could get a replacement.
  10. Well done that man for getting the pic up finally... It now saves me a trip down to the local argos! Any ideas on what frame the blokes riding? Looks pretty old school to me, A brisa maybe or some kind of pashley? Does anyone know who this is, where this is, and what he's riding? Im intreagued (spell?) about this
  11. Southend-on-sea Essex otherwise known as : Saaafendd! Anyway, theres loads of riders near where I live and theres rides nearly everyday within the local area. This is because theres the best part of 40 riders who all live within around 6 miles radius of southend. oh and yeah, I ride a Zona Zip
  12. Monty tyres are good for grip but are a thin ply so will be more vunerable to pinches Try-all tyres are soft compounds so wear quicker but have good grip (which in your case will be good) Maxxis creepy crawlers are good all round tyres as they have good grip and have a good wear rate Currently I run the Monty eagle claw tyre and love the grip and wear rate - Ive had them for 4 months now and theres little wear to them. I used to run the creepys but have to say, aside the odd puncture or pinch i'll still go with the montys
  13. yeah have to say that colour is nice!! - looks like a good job too seeing as it was done outside and not in a spray booth. Did you do it or was that why simpson was round ?
  14. If you havn't seen it - heres the chance <link removed> It may not be in completly good quality but it will suffice and <link removed> is a great website if you want to watch other movies or programs EDIT: No piracy please
  15. Check that your headset cups are slightly lubed or greased and check for a flared headtube - my headtube on my zona is flared and was creaking for ages. I thought it was my front brake but on closer inspection, it was my headset cups moving and creaking within the tube. So.. to stop this I simply wrapped a thin layer of tape around my headset cups and re-inserted it back into the frame, and now my bike is silent (apart from the freewheel and brakes) Just worth a look as it could solve your problem
  16. My highest is about 6foot as I don't really see the point of going any higher - doing drops just breaks your bike and is all a big macho thing - like 'look at me, I've dropped bigger than you - Your rubbish' Someone said that to me the other day and then he broke his bike. So what does that say, avoid drops or drop to the limit of your bike? looks good I agree but its not a skillful move to be honest - drop gaps are acceptable as thats a little more skill. Doing drops just means you can pedal hop and even the pikey kids who stole a mission could probably do that!
  17. Im now on 32" from static as I can't quite grasp how to put the pedal motion in the preload and lift off! but I havn't been doing them long and improved a whole inch from yestaday so at this rate it looks good for me
  18. Yeah, have to say joe that bike is gorgeous and when I rode it today, I was like but you should have sold your zenith to me I also like your camera work too!
  19. Theres some good parts on the zona - they ride brilliant, Ive got one and its great and I would recommend everytime as they are cheap and strong For the full bike and for the price, I think you should go for it mate
  20. Danny - as in danny wilson (on the toxsin) Then yeah he is But no Im skint as it is so can't pay for you sorry dude - beg or steal the money for a train fair and then bring a sandwich or something for food -job done
  21. Yes!! well im going with Nick dale and a mate so I think its worth the trip - Im bored of my usual place for a bit, I want to try out new places so im definitely up for it - as is nick who is completely up for it!
  22. Southend-on-sea, Essex - good for rides and theres loads of riders in and around the area
  23. No!!! keep it to tommorow - Its light rain so it may not be raining all the time so its should still be worth the appearance - anyway the BIG southend ride is planned for saturday anyway so - if you can't make it for this, make sure you make it for the southend one as that one will be mega!
  24. I have a silver Giro Indicator - bought it from halfords and its great but then again I havn't crashed in it yet so I don't know if it will save my head or what! But for £30 it wern't that bad.
