  1. Back in the day, I think they did justify themselves moreso than these days. I had mine for about 6 years, paid about $500 for it (about £258). Looked after it, cleaned it maybe once every 18 months. Back then, there was ACS claws, King, Shimano silentclutch, maybe Profile... and that's it. Come 2009, decided to go front fw, sold it and it's still going strong. But now there are freewheels with over 72 ep's, and much more affordable for the average punter. Whether 5 freewheels are more reliable than 1 King, I'm not sure.. high engagement fw's are still relatively young. So yes, I think there is still a place for the ol' CK hub, but the fw is much cheaper in the immediate short term.
  2. and some updated pics, from the Rotorburn forums Craig Pearce is a very experienced trials rider, competed all around the world and seen the sections.. if anyone knows how to set a worlds course, it'd be him!!
  3. I can vouch for this. I've had my proto set in for the past 2 1/2 months with barely any wear. And that's been through at least 3 very harsh grinds!! I rode 2 comps in 2 days in the wet, mud, river... even through a river.. and the pads still made a loud noise on the other end! I have NEVER had a pad do that. Was a little skeptical at first when Lewis talked them up (cos they had his name on it haha), but he wasn't kidding.. they f**king work.
  4. surely the first photo was staged, haha. Very nice though nice bike too
  5. do you have weights on these frames, Adam?
  6. Do you know if Kenny is heading to NZ??
  7. Not sure if you mean the old yellow Atomz pads or newer white ones. But the yellows were similar to Zoo, great bite and sound, but a bit too soft on a ground rim and thus wore quickly. Whites are a little harder I think. On a smooth rim you should be all good!
  8. Ah come on Ali, surely the subtle promotion of Tarty bikes here and there warrants enough for a flight? haha Ben, maybe I'll meet you this time. Saw you riding back in 06 in Rotorua but as was the case with everybody, it looked like time was of the essence. I was speaking to some of the Euro's, they're not sure if they are going back to Europe after the worlds, then back down again for the cup!! Crazy expensive.
  9. trialspads is your best bet, free shipping on brake pads. Get the TNN LGM's and never look back.
  10. if there is any clear example of OVERKILL, this is it. /thread.
  11. Hey lads, Who's coming down to ye olde convict town? I have time off between the World Champs in Aus and World Cup Final in NZ if people need to train, etc...
  12. yeah it's the same deal here.. some of our top riders aren't given any support. eg, one year Joe Brewer went over to Livigno (05?) for the world champs, and you need to have a "coach" for each discipline. Usually one of the others just says "yeah" and they put their name down on paper, as coach. Not that they have to do anything. Then this particular dude in this particular year decided to say "no, I won't put my name on it". SO we had to send over another senior trials dude just to accompany him.. Anyway- If brits or anyone need help/time to kill between AUS and NZ, please get in touch with me Jack should have my email and details. Mitch
  13. I don't think it was in slow-mo mate... SLB is not Joe Brewer, so yeah. Joe is one of our best contenders to do well at the Worlds this year.
  14. hey Jack, looks like you're riding well!! Bike looks nice gonna keep the Karbon....?
  15. Very nice Danny!! I'm interested to know what's been done to the rear end so that you can fit a King/custom looking snail cam thingo, in there...?
  16. great pics, good to see the trusty Ashton is still going! Which 5-10 shoes are they, Lewis? Any good? Oh and i'm sorry, you're not a pink permit holder... so you'll have to get off that block and never ride it again

  19. It'll probably inevitably leak anyway, even if you replace the ball bearing that drops in there. If you graft it onto the older style lever body, you might have a bit more luck with that.
  20. Used the LGM's in the rain yesterday.. still nothing short of fantastic. Loud, powerful and solid feel. get them
  21. I second that!! Just had my 3rd ride on the LGM's and they are loud, lots of hold and make me feel confident
  22. right foot about to come off pedal??
  23. The vimeo description appears to say TNN LGM - these are a green colour and different compound to the CRM (yellow)
