  1. I'd say shinguards for the win! dunno what I would do without my shinguards.. probably I would be in a lot of unnecessary pain... I've got some really neat FOX shinguards, really cool. So, in my case I both protect my shins and look cool and it isn't about manhood to wear shinguards, it's about common sense. Mine cost about £300 by the way
  2. Sometimes the disc can be slightly skewed, even the ones you buy new.. you can try to bend it a bit.. just be careful so you don't overbend it and use some paper when you do it, never touch the disc with dirty hands! If the sound is very vague, it'll probably tune down after riding your bike for a while, since the disc will get worn.
  3. I always ride in Etnies or Circa, suits best for my feet
  4. Hm.. Seems like a familiar subject... maybe you should search for the topic, and find your answer that way..?
  5. I work as a bicycle salesman (saleswoman ), mechanic... and putting bicycles together etc... Quite a good job, when it comes to buying bikes, since I get 25% off It's great!
  6. always tricky with names... how about "Trials ***" (for the win, that is )
  7. Hey! Try to put on a half-link, if you are absolutely sure that you can't fit the chain taking of a whole link, even if you use violence... sometimes it's needed Or try to buy a new chain.. because a chain is stretchable in the beginning, using an old chain, that won't stretch is hard to fit when it's to short, a newer one, will stretch within time. And also, if you're buying a new one, make sure it isn't cheap crap, try kmc or any of shimano's more expensive models. Good luck to you
  8. search on the google will you street
  9. Puncture is less trouble off course. Always bring your puncture fix kit with you when going on a trials session far away from home, always be prepared! worse if the hose brake down...
  10. yeah... what happend? hope you kept it, and went fo both!
  11. Hey thanks a lot mate! Good to hear someone who's objective!
  12. Try: wheel building http://sheldonbrown.com/wheelbuild.htmlSheldon Don't forget to do the after adjustments! Good luck and enjoy!
  13. Just started with trials. Since I ride XC, BMX, dirt, I haven't got much savings left, so bought a pretty cheap, but fun (I think) Mod, just to give this a try. And it really worth all the time, think it's real fun!
  14. Around 300-350 since it's not new.. alas a bike's price gets so much lower once it's used, even if it's not old... by the way, you never said how old it was, that mathers a great deal too.. You almost never get the price YOU think it's worth anyway
  15. Looks very neat! really nice with a Chris King headset on it too! Heard that the GU frames are really something special, had time to test it properly yet, what did you think of it?
  16. well all 3 of them have got good and bad sides, don't they. It depends of how you're riding off course. Mod is fun and easy, while stock I think is more easy to go street with and so on... 24" I have no experience of alas.. but thinking of getting one, once I've learned to master my Mod a bit more.. They choice of getting an 24" instead of 26" is only because of me not being very big at size, thinking that would suit me better... Anyone with experience of 24" btw? please write and tell!
  17. Well it contains whatever you wish for.. like pallets, boulders, cement blocks.. all of it built to suit a trials cyclist.. some parks even allow people to move around the environment, to get a track that suits them. use your imagination.
  18. I really like those rims, you know where they're from? Could you link the page if you know? thanx!
  19. Of what I heard they've usually got a very good grip... my boyfriend uses "CRC Belt Grip" rim spray to make the rim sticky. And he also grinded his rims... that should do,. good luck!

    Weight

I'm a bit curious about if all trials cyclists know how much their bike weigh. For some it means the world having a light weighed cycle, and spending their savings in getting it lighter... So, how much does YOUR bike weigh? (good to add if it's an 20", 24" or 26")
  21. Hi! I live in the middle of Sweden, and since there's a big interest in all kind of cycling in my home town, we're trying to get an skate/BMX/Trials indoor park! The government is a bit lazy.. but I think we're getting there. But til then we, we take action by ourselfs, we build our own little parks... I mean one can do pretty much with some imagination and help from some friends... We also have got a big indoor park in Gothenburg, just 1.5h from here. My advice is, that if you are able, try to build as much as you can by your own! Good luck!
  22. Yeah I got the advice before to get me some Hs33's, and I think I will go for it. I've noticed how my current V-brakes don't do their job properly when it comes to jumping on and off to stuff. Since I've just getting started I appreciate the advices. Cheers
  23. Hey! I'm pretty new in riding mod, am a xc and dirt rider from the beginning. Bought a Saracen M.A.D Zero.2 mod, to begin with. Anyone know anything about this bike or Saracen bikes? We haven't got that brand in Sweden, would be fun to know if anyone has any experience of it... Bring it on!
  24. hmm hard to tell... here in Sweden it can be both bad and good I think. I mean, off course it can be seen as vandalism jumping on to stuff in the streets. But also, I've actually seen some sort of interest in an older generation, admiring what one can do with a bike. But I mean, as long as one does'nt wreck everything in town, at least I don't really care 'bout the reputation it brings by riding street. It's jolly good fun though!
