  1. You have recieved a new feedback. Below are details concerning the new feedback. Type: Good Rating SummaryStem arrived quickly. V easy transaction! Given By: strelly You were the: Seller Date: 1185540155
  2. If thats all set up then all you gotta do is click a couple buttons! Right click on the folder which holds the files you want to put on dvd. Go on your folks pc and go on 'my network places', hopefully your computer should be there, and within that option you can access the folder you shared. If that doesnt work, find out your computer name by going on control panel>system>computer name. Should look a bit like this: Full Computer Name: #name# workgroup: WORKGROUP (make sure this name is the same on both comps, usually makes it easier) Now you know your comp name go on your folks comp and open windows explorer. On the address bar type '\\#name#' then press enter (Ignore the '', and replace #name# with your comps name) Sorry if thats confusing, im not great at explaining stuff! Charlie
  3. Have a quick read through that: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040 Im kinda assuming both comps are running XP and are both connected via the router. I spent most of my second year at uni sorting out our damn network! Great way of learning it all. Msn me at strelly @hotmail.com if you need a hand. Laters Charlie
  4. Ha yea too right, i was half way down thinking 'S**T why didn't i bring my trusty two bladed paddle?!' But thinking about it, i did break those paddles a few days later. They were actually pretty dangerous due to pesky alligators/crocodiles(they look the same) What was scarier was when i hard to run most of that river with 2 sets of paddles (my mate lost his set further upstream due to a near death experience and we found them floating around about 6km downstream!) Nice little fact about that river for you all: The flow rate ranges between 250,000 and 500,000 cumecs. Thats cubic meters per second. Its so much water its unbelievable! Yea its a great sport which everyone seems to relate to, but as you progress the more you need to travel the world finding harder stuff (because UK is rubbish for decent rivers). Strelly
  5. I was just wondering if there are many people who paddle as well as ride trials? Ive been kayaking about 6 years now and its always taken up most of my time, but since I started uni at nottingham I have stopped (no good rivers etc..) and started trials. Now trials has taken all my time and i hardly paddle any more, even with floods all over the country. Feel a bit guilty! Its mainly the fact that i can just pick up my bike, and ride for 1 miniute or 4 hours, any time. Kayaking always need much more planning, time and effort. Not really sure why i started this thread, i just feel like im giving up a large chunk of my life due to the ease of another sport! Heres a couple of pics of me for those interested: White Nile, Uganda French Alps White Nile, Uganda Cheers Strelly
  6. Bored cat. Never been good at low light shots. Charlie
  7. Hey, i did a helicoil on a 5mm hole(brake mounts) and i drilled it out with a 5.2mm drill bit. The helicoil kit i used had the chart and everything.. but i dont have it any more! But 6.35mm sounds about right, if you have access to decent measuring devices (calipers, micrometers etc..) measure the outside of the helicoil, should be a gnats wing over the original hole size. If in doubt do a test run on a scrap bit of metal with that 6.35mm bit and see how it taps, and if you have spare coils, whack one in and see how it does! Sorry if thats confusing... Charlie
  8. Have you tried taking the lever apart to clean/oil it? If you have the old style lever, have a gander at this, Very simple way of getting it up and running if the TPA isnt working.
  9. Ha yea, Strelly is my middle name... (dont ask, its some weird family tradition). Im up at uni in notts (living in Dunkirk), i was quite shocked to see my name on signposts when i first came up here! EDIT: and on buses!
  10. My first build! Home made bash!
  11. http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....showtopic=98554 Someone had the same problem a few days ago.
  12. Started trials around a month ago, loving it!
  13. It wont make a difference with the video mode, my 5MP camera records at 1.14MB/s at its best quality setting. So any card that writes at over 1.5 meg a second will be fine! I reckon you should get this one, fast and cheap!
  14. Hey, 5MP file size is usually around 2.5 megs. So the quicker the write speed on the card is the quicker it'll store the pic. It all depends on your camera, if it is of high quality it'll be more likely to read and write to the SD card faster. I doubt you will notice a massive difference between the cards unless you take multiple pictures in quick sucession. Just go for the best in your price range i guess! Try ebuyer.com, amazon.com or dvd.co.uk they are usually cheap. Dvd.co.uk is free postage too! hope his helps
  15. Great pics, shame about the riding! I think i put more effort into sitting down than you put gapping that roof, and i aint a graceful sitter! Impressive stuff.
  16. hey, epoxy resin would be a good choice i reckon, but bear in mind to mix it properly before putting it on. Also look for polyester resin or araldite... all these glues are fundementally the same. Also make sure to clean and rough (with sandpaper) each bonding edge to maximise cohesion! hope this helps
  17. Yea that thread is now M5x0.8 as it should be. Just drilled out the exising hole with 5.2mm bit. Tapped it with the correct tap to the helicoil (it should come in with the kit). Then screwed in the helicoil with the driver tool thing. Bit confusing at first, but simple once youve done it!
  18. I had the option to use a M6 thread, its a much simpler thing to do. But i like using standard sizes, it makes things much easier in the long run! If i didnt have access to a helicoil kit i would have tapped them out to M6. I reckon its actually stronger than the original thread as its a steel, and its gripping onto a larger surface area of aluminum (as its a m6-ish thread). Time will tell!
  19. Just helicoiled 4 holes on my frame today, thought i share this pic with you all as it took me a while getting my head around the whole process! I think it shows how helicoiling works quite well... or it could just be the fact i did it earlier! Enjoy
  20. I would be more worried about my arse then the seat tube to be honest!! its only a cheap build at the mo.. got most of the parts for 31 quid (see eBay) I apologize in advance for the dodgy hose... im waiting on an olive! in total it cost be around 80 quid. not bad to learn on. Im also to open to (creative) criticism on the build, its still early days! cheers
  21. Its all about the jubilee clamps! It makes the cheapest bikes look even cheaper! Only cost me 50p from my local chandlery (thats a boat shop for all land lubbers out there). Anyone else had any good uses for these little beauties?
  22. I finally got my hands on the bargain bike. Needs a hell of a lot of work, but im up for a challange! The front brake works... just. Back brake needs rebuliding and bleeding. im planning to get a new length of hose for the rear maggie, and i have only one question (for now..) How to i connect the hose into the master cylinder? Do i use one of those fables olives? i dont want to take apart the other brake to find out. The rest of the process i have worked out in my head. ill post pics of the wreck bike when ive got a sec. cheers again charlie
  23. have a look at DMR sidekick forks, they are pretty strong and offer both v and disc mounts. i got a pair off ebay for 10 quid i think. they are very heavy though! Ps i think sidekick forks are equivalent to 110mm travel so may be a little short.
  24. Cheers Alley Rat, i do believe thats the frame. now if only i could actually own the bike... cheers
