I would have freaked the f**k out.

Yup. I checked the tires over before and quite thoroughly after Curby, didn't see a thing. So it's fairly recent. About two days ago I noticed that when turning right it was making an odd ticking noise and the ESP was coming on. So I might have done it on a pot hole (can't recall going in one) or a flint or something within the last few days. In terms of wear they were all really even and and only just below the limit, 1.5 at the lowest and 1.6 bang on across 2/3'rds on that particular tire, the rest were at about 1.8. They do look fantastic on the car, and the grip is very very good. There is lots of front end grip, and you can really get the fronts dug in and lift off oversteer if you want. Neither Prawn or I have been brave enough to power oversteer the back end yet, it gets right on the cusp of letting go but the worry is that when it does neither of us have a clue what it will do. Hopefully with a bit more camber on the front and a bit more development in the chassis I will be able to get even more grip from the front. I've ordered some Recaro Pole Positions (lols) and I just need to order some subframes on pay day, then harnesses to follow. All coming together well. Hilariously I fit a set of high contact track tires, and it rains for the first time in months!

I do begrudge spending £420 on tires, it's only the second time I've ever put tires on a car. So I take a bit of comfort in knowing that I got my monies worth out of the F1's. These NA2R's have literally transformed the car.

I doubt it, I struggle to keep the thing out of a ditch.

Fitting and balancing on Thursday. Four wheel alignment and a proper geo set up on Thursday 25th.

They should move within a constant radius with quite stiff resistance. If the ball itself moves from its socket then it's monkey's.

I blame it on the Michelin Man.

I've bought my fair amount of shit in my time, and told people alllll about it. Who said anything about budget? I offered Dan an opinion on something which is the same price if not cheaper than what he has purchased. What opinions have I got based around what Nicks done? Does he have the tires I suggested? Because you don't know, I'll give you the answer. No he f**king doesn't. If anybody needs to reign anything in then it is your needless bashing of me in the first place which was totally uncalled for, unhelpful and un-constructive. WW3 engaged.

You can do whatever you want my pudding and pie, I was merely making a suggestion that you might want to take a step up the tyre ladder.

PS3's are shit. Have you ever driven a car with Pilot Sport 3's on? I'm going to hazard a guess at no, making you unable to comment on my opinion of whether they are shit or not. (Which they are for the money) They're incredibly soft, you'll be lucky to get 6k pit of them. They're over priced. £80-100 online. You can buy NS2R's, 595-RSR's, AO48's and for £12.50 more R888's. Or Rainsports... They "go off" very harshly when you get to half tyre life. I drive a set on my friends Suzuki Swift when he got them, and they seemed like a decent set of tires (until he told me what he had paid), I drove them 4 months later when he was on about 4500 miles of life from the tires, under steering left right and center, shocking in the wet. Really felt budget. It doesn't have to be the tires that I have, it was more a generalization. I'd be picking up a set of Rainsports or something like that. But as you clearly have no idea about tires at all because you just get whatever they have at the scrappies (lolz) I wouldn't suggest anything other than you trying to have a pop at me. Heaven forbid you try to reaffirm Dan's choice or offer him an alternative instead of being a dick.

Aren't you the one who's always in the no girlfriend thread? Think wisely before your next post...

Gay ass pussy tires. Get NS2R's.
-
Just do it on Paypal and pay after delivery.

Have you had it tracked Dan?

It sounds utterly shit, I wasted minutes of my life watching that yesterday and was left feeling robbed of life. I urge anybody viewing this thread not to bother with the above video.

I hear Dan's pretty good at refurbishing wheels? On second thought...

I think the Audi scene is a littler more grown up than the Seat and VW scenes which seem a bit Maccy D's in comparison. - I cannot wait for the NS2-R's George. I am fully 100% dedicated to the Motorsport route for the S3 now, and if it ruins it then it ruins it. But I'm going for it. Hopefully this will be a big step for me, some proper tires. The sprint day at Curborough really showed my car is struggling for front end grip, even with Eagle F1's. I am very reluctant to remove my S4 wheels because they are a bit of a trade mark that I am known for having, and they just look so right. So they are going in for a refurb hopefully next weekend whilst I am away in Edinbrough, and to have the NS2-R's fitted at the same time. Then come pay-day on the 25th I am going to wiz it down for a four wheel alignment. I am hoping this will all make a pretty big difference. Oh, and some 15mm spacers but only for looks.

I got given a brand new complete AUM cylinder head when my head gasket went, all FOC. Just had to give him my old head so he could skim it and build it with race valves.
-
Same for me. I've given so many things to people to help them along the way. It's because Mike owned a Seat. - Just ordered some NS2-R's. Wooot

Not true at all, the VAG "scene" is heroic if you go to the right places. Random acts of kindness are everywhere.

I'm just intrigued, because I've not heard of a V5 turbo before, so I was expecting to potentially be able to point you in the way of a build thread if you were able to tell me any more about the car... But you're not, and apparently Mike thinks I'm about to slip up and land on his scissors if I keep taking about it. So as you were.
