  1. I wonder TomTurd, you never used to post frequently a while back. Are you now single or something? :P

Anyway we have phones and internet by TalkTalk and they've never been any hassle. Only prob I've known is when my grandma died and we cancelled the phoneline. They kept phoning up saying pay your bills even to the point of threatening us with court. We kept telling them it had been cancelled. P*ss boiling.

  2. Thats quite a good read. It depends how you view steroid abuse or doping. I believe if you mess with you hormone levels and other performance compounds there should be a zero tolerance policy because you're forgetting the essence of sport. The article says the average person can enhance their testosterone 4x and still be a clean athlete in olympic testing. The majority could be dirty!

I believe taking blood out and re-injecting it is ok. It has the same effect of altitude training.

That article also says Bolt's coach is more of a chemist than a coach, hahaha.

  3. That's the hardest thing to understand I have ever read. So a helicopter takes off and it crashes into the rear of a car? Why are there traffic lights? If you jump on a bus you land where you jumped. If you jumped on the roof of a train as many actors do in movies, you'd probably land further down the train because the winds pushes you. That wind is absent in a bus.

  4. They say that but to get through to interview it would be a strange selection process to choose a 2:1 candidate over a first class graduate in the same course from the same uni (for example). Once in interview it will then be obvious if the first class candidate has no common sense or practical ability. But then I got a first so I'm biased, although that did mean that I walked in to a doctorate and then got the first job I applied for...

You couldve left that end bit out for the sake of all this threads postee's esteem.

  5. time, mass and length change when you approach the speed of light. If you are going 99% light speed and want to accelerate, as you accelerate your mass will increase, time will slow down and length decreases.

  6. Ive always been told theres a skill shortage of engineers. However ive also been on the unemployment list since january. If anyones wondering about a placement year during uni, do it.

I signed off for a stag weekend in Ibiza about 3 months ago. I signed back on as soon as I returned but none of my payments have gone through since then! complete idiots. I shoulda checked my statements though.

  7. I never thought peanuts would have so many calories, FFS I've been eating shit loads!! like two jars in as many weeks.

    FFFFUFUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!

Peanuts are good for you though, but like everything else in moderation. They have the good kind of fats.

Ive always wondered. Suppose you have all your nutrition met one day (like all your vitamens, iron etc). Does it matter where you get the remaining calories from? When people say quality of calories, are calories not just calories?

  8. Did the Star Wars ever fix any of the issues they had though?

not too sure mate. but while the odd friend on facebook comments on a game every now and then, its never star wars.

  9. I hope GW" doesn't flop like that star wars one did, there was so much hype before it was released and now I've never heard anything since. Doesn't seem much interest in gw on here though. I remember the COD nights. I'm suprised I graduated with the grade I got after being exposed to endless hours of COD with my 3 other housemates in the exam runups. So addictive, that and Mario Kart on the Wii.

  10. Suppose this could be a MMO thread, but I only play GW. I have given Warcraft a go but it's too heavy for me.

There's finally a release date for gw2! After literally 5 years of guessing when it might come out. I only filled my hall of fame in gw to about 30/50. Got enough to buy my obsidian armor but just cant be bothered to go on. I hope gw2 isnt gonna be a flop though. so many people want it to be good. I would've been really keen to buy it years ago, but just dont spend the same time on the computer I used to.

The preorder is fairly expensive I think. Anyone got it?

  11. I've had shadows under my eyes for quite some time now, if you do find out what the cause of the swollen glands are do share as mine are the same.

When I taught English abroad it was a new experience. After 6 months the headteacher said 'have you hit the flatspot yet.' I hadnt realised it but there was no new material in my lessons and I was just going through the motions. This is being lethargic. Put more effort into things.

  12. I had an automatic moped (honda airblade 110) for one year in Bangkok, with no legal documentation of course - such a thing is a hindrance. I fancy a bike in UK now and Im over 21. Is it too much for a first bike to be something like a Suzuki SV650? Or how about a Honda 400?

Also, 500£ is a lot to part with for your CBT, a few lessons and your bike test at the end. Are the packages the best way to get your unrestricted licence or is it best doing these things individually. I ask, because at the risk of sounding cocky, I reckon I can do 2 or 3 lessons before my test. Also are the practical tests hard?

  13. hmm, I did a hop onto a wall and did quite bad damage to my lower back. I could only drive with frozen peas in my car. Some strong anti-inflammatories did the trick. A doc might tell you iboprofen is fine but you can say they just dont cut it..

  14. Would be useful to get a picture of your set-up as I have a couple of starts so know what works in regards to string height. If you feel they are too high then you can just lower the bridge. There should be a series of allen key bolts in the bridge right where the string comes through the body. Loosen these to lower each section/string at a time. As has been said if your neck is bowed this could cause fret buzz - check to see if this is so. If you don't feel comfortable doing the work yourself just bring your guitar to the shop and get someone who knows what they're doing to fix it.

I've had a tinker on with it. I lowered the bridge, it's alot faster to play now but only fret buzzing on the first 3 strings. very little though. I might attempt the truss rod again, anticlockwise brings the neck forward right? thanks

You sure? As weirdoku said it's usually the exact opposite. They're not too cheap to be useable, my Squier's set up well and as far as actually playing it goes, it's gorgeous - i still prefer it to lots of the more expensive stuff i've messed about with.

I would think the same. but actually the man at the shop said i could try filing away some material at the knot (i think thats the name, its has the strings resting over it at the top of the neck).
