I would basically reccomend you do the absolute opposite. With a cheap digital camera, even one with over 4MP, you end up with really poor quality photographs since the quality of the lens is so crap. I would rule out Aldi personally. Have a look on the Dixons website, as they have some decent web-only offers on at the moment, this being the pick perhaps. Also see if you can find any cheap Konica Rivo cameras anywhere online. My dad bought a brand new Konica Revio KD-510Z recently at a hugely marked down price since they are no longer made (since Konica merged with Minolta). Its a really decent camera, with different shooting modes, and with a picture quality that looks pretty decent (even compared to my £1000+ Canon EOS 10D DSLR).

According to that X-Box release linked further back in this thread, the X-Box will be water-cooled. I think its mentions it in this vid that Alexx linked to: link.

Sky are apparently broadcasting HD-TV channels from next year. On the console front, as has been said previously, it's not simply about raw power, its about how the games are created by the developers (although its granted that more processing power should mean a greater scope for improved graphics), and ultimately; how playable the games actually are!

To play XBox live you need a chip that can be turned on and off, since XBox Live will ban the account of any "altered" XBox consol. Some chips have the ability to be turned on and off so their functionality can be utilised when you are not wanting to connect to XBox Live.
-
You can also install Linux on an XBox without any chip modding at all. I have an article in PC Pro that gives you a walk through guide, maybe they have it somewhere on the website? If you put Linux on i'm sure you could use that as a media center, and you should be able to network it to other PC's since PC Pro's justification for setting up Linux is that it can be used as a smooth wall or similar. Check out www.xbox-linux.org for more details.

Please don’t patronise me using with references to dogs, that’s rather insulting and not in the spirit of an adult debate (as well as being a completely fictitious metaphor, born out of obvious bias). I think that 97% of Palestinian’s would like their lands back, rather than peace at any cost. It’s also utter bollocks to suggest that the leaders of these “terrorist” organisations are all wealthy, and to contend that they are “using” young Palestinian’s to do the donkey work – for a start see Jihad for a start. This is not to say I agree with the killing of innocents, or anyone for that matter. But then to preach (deserved) hatred towards the BNP is hypocritical, when you (Israel) are not allowing people to exist freely in their own land, through the use of bulldozers and tanks. By the way, just thought i would make it clear that i hate the BNP, but find refferences them as Nazis as provocative and misguided.
-
I am not defending Britain's historical record, since it is one of the poorest around. I do however find it somewhat hypocritical for you to be aghast at the messages of the BNP, mainly to remove people they see as unwelcome intruders in Britain, when this is exactly what Israel is doing, yet you see nothing wrong with this? And don't give me rubbish about terrorist organisations; terrorism is born out of a necessity to free yourself from perceived oppressors.
-
Think Israel then think Palestine… To be honest, i don't agree with the BNP policies either - but the assertion that they are affiliated with the Nazis is somewhat unfair. It stands to reason that people that did/would vote BNP might take offence at this association.

I am also interested in learning the correct manner for achieving a liquid layout using div tags. In the past i have created a liquid layout using tables with percentage values in this manner to create a page always appears centrally in a browser window: Is there a way to create a similar effect using the greater flexibility of layers rather than tables? I have looked at div tag tutorials on the web, but non seem to address this particual goal. I have a reasonable knowledge of coding (well i can write code to form a website, how good it is i am unsure), so really i just need a method rather than any detailed coding knowledge. If anyone can point me in the right direction i would be most grateful.

Cheers for that Adam, I remembered after having submitted the poll.
-
I know there is already a discussion topic on this subject, but i thought it might be a good idea if there was also a poll. I have included voting options for those of you who are too young to vote as i felt it would be interesting to view your responses. Basically there doesn't need to be much discussion in this topic as that can be done in Here. (Mods: please feel free to merge this topic with the other if desired.)

You mean "finally someone with a Conservative viewpoint!". The Conservatives have always favoured the rich, 'because guess what: they and most of their supporters are wealthy. I think the rich should be taxed heavily, and i know many people who would be happy to pay greater taxes to help those less fortunate, thats a function of living in a welfare state. Contrary to the Conservative and Dailymail (et all) doctrain, there are actually people in this country who genuinly need help from the doll etc. and to deny these people that because some of them abuse it is fundamentally wrong. This country has too few tax brackets, whats wrong with impliamenting a few more higher up the scale, even America do this for gods sake. Obviously i agree that that there should be greater controls over people illegitimatly claiming benifits, and i am sure that this is something any elected government will look into, be in Labour or Conservative.
-
Labour for me. I am not a fan of all the immigrant bashing that is going on elsewhere, plus I would never even consider a Conservative vote, and the LibDems will never win in my area. This year has been interesting: the Conservatives switching their focus from the wealthy to the working class through Blair bashing and playing to peoples’ fear of immigrants. Unfortunately tabloid readers are playing into their hands, with the comics (Sun, Mirror etc.) following the Daily Mails lead, with their shameless xenophobia. The Conservatives only saving grace is that they might steal some votes from berks in the BNP and UKIP/Veritas. EDIT: would it be possible to turn this post into a poll with all the major parties listed?

Smoothwall is a Proxy, not just a firewall. There are also pleant of proxy servers available for Windows if you dont wish to buy a router, however you might find them more difficult to set up.

If you are thinking of joining as an engineer then it might be worth talking directly with the RAF before applying to university as they can help you with sponsorship/subsidies which will always come in handy at uni. A friend of mine (well a friend of a friend) is doing just this and gets some financial help from the RAF (he is studying at UMIST and is doing officer training in the RAF).

Is there any news for existing 1.5Mb customers?

For shoes i would try Riverisland. They make some really nice brown loafers, which sound like they would be ideal: very comfortable and stylish, without being overly smart. Have a look on their website.

would it not be possbile to run a port scanner to ascertain if there are any open ports on the University network. Then by connecting your computer through a router, use port forwarding for the outgoing connections? In Kazaa you can set the port for incoming connections, or use port 80 which surely should be open for HTTP access. Is that a possible solution? Failing that could you not set up a router in a remote location and use port forwarding to forward both incoming and outgoing connections into open ports on the university network? Surely this could be achieved by the correct ACL's?

But surely the 6800GT is better than the 6600GT, and is still cheaper than the X800XT. I know you were talking about the 660, but i wasn't.
-
I disagree. In all the reviews i have read, the 6800GT comes out above the X800 XT. And at over £50 cheaper (might not be everywhere, but the prices i am quoting from the review in PC Pro) it seems like the better card, plus you can improve its performance at a later date if you need to buy adding another card. Personally i would try and get hold of a 6800Ultra, but apparently they are very rare.
-
Surely the NF4 SLI supports SLI (scaleable link interface i think). I read an article about it a few weeks ago. Basically it means you can run two identical GForce cards which increases gaming performance. I will try to find the article, as they tested various setups. Like i say i will try to verify this. EDIT: Can't find the same review but i have just found another which states that if you buy one GForce 6800GT card, you can effectivly double its gaming performance (when tested in HL2, FarCry and Doom3 anyway) by adding another 6800GT at a later date. Note: to run twin cards in SLI mode, both cards must be exactly the same model from the same manifacturer. So in answer to your question, i would got for the mother board that supports NF4SLI because it gives you room to upgrade at a later date.

Seals can become either physically damaged, or simply fail to seal due to lack of lubrication. Friction on non-lubricated seals can cause the formation of rough edges on the seal itself which cuts contact area and can cause leaks. However, i have no experience with this in Maguras, i'm just saying in general.

Thanks for your replies. It's a computer i built myself, but it was ages ago and i can't remember whether the RAM i used is buffered or un-buffered. Is there anyway i can find out? It doesn't say on the DIMM itself. My Motherboard suppots 1024MB (1GB) or RAM so no worries there. Im running WinXP Pro not Win98.

I drive a Clio aswell (1.2 Grande). It is fun to drive, alot more fun that the new Micra I had while it was being fixed. The only thing is, fuel consumption isn't that good, only about 25mpg on mine at the moment. But for £600 if it's in good nick i would go for it.
