I'm happy I never really got into consoles/gaming. I have a PSone and a PS2 that I rarely play and I'm quite happy not feeling the need to spend £500 on a new console and £60 a game thereafter!

All I’ll say is that consoles usually have a shelf life of 7 or 8 years and that you can get a huge amount of mileage with some games.

For me the cost of the console, games, online play is no more than about £120 per year. I pay the same for Apple Music.

But if you’re not really into it, you’re not really into it. :)

He lives in Tunbridge Wells, pretty high prices around there.

The entire south east of England is a joke. Unless you buy after a recession like we did or have lots of help from mummy and daddy, I don’t understand how normal people are supposed to be able to get on the property ladder.

    Incorrect.

The house we've bought was on the market Tuesday and we had our offer accepted on the Thursday. There were 2 other offers in at that time at full asking price.

Mate sold his house recently within 48 hours too.

Allow me to explain myself better:

Based on my experience in the industry, FTB apps are down, home movers are down and remo’s, rate switches and extra borrowing are up against what we’d normally expect at this time of year.

I’ve also seen lots of chains breaking down because of banks no longer accepting furlough income, people losing work etc. Trust me, it can be a tricky time to buy and sell, so well done to those who’ve got it done. :)

  4. I am slowly but surely building a staircase flanked by flowerbeds which will lead to a lawn. It’s rough around the edges, but will be rendered, painted and planted to cover up any imperfections.

Was gifted "Return of the Obra Dinn" on Steam for my birthday. It had been on my wishlist for a long time, but I never expected that I'd be having that much fun with it.
There's not much action really, at least none you can see (you can hear it though). If anyone is interested, it's based around a ship that returned to it's port without any crew aboard/alive and is mainly based around deducting the fate of the separate members of the crew. Really, really well made though and the artstyle is quite unique and the music spot on. Just try to avoid spoilers since I doubt it's fun to play a second time round. (and please none for me - I'm not finished yet. :P )

    What’s Steam?

Edit: Okay, no need to explain, I’ve just searched for it. Never heard of that before. I’m really out of touch.

That's awesome. I learned how to solve them last year. But my "learn as little algorithms as possible and repeat them to move pieces" method has yet to get me below 90 seconds.

I’m the same. I can solve it in just under 3 minutes and I’m perfectly happy with that.

Of course the whole film just captures the MTB scene at that time but from 5 mins 40 in, in Wales (with that Garbage - Milk remix I've never found since) 12 mins 20 in up in Newbury and shot at night, and then 27 mins 48 when the Marty(i)n's just steal the show in the States I remember sitting at home with mates being blown away. Every time I watch Chainspotting it just takes me straight back to no mortgage, no job, no worries, just summers riding trials with mates. Perfect.

Yep, I’ve never found the remix either. I used to have the Wandsworth section (steep grey walls where Ashton snaps his chain and everybody shits themselves) as a local riding spot for a few years as well.

The constant sense of not knowing what we can do, what type of businesses are open, whether I should be going to work, whether I can see friends, whether we're in a lockdown is pretty exhausting for me. That first major lockdown was tough but at least I knew where I was in the world, today's announcement has been an upset because the past week has been headlines of not going back on the Christmas rules so I thought there was some degree of stability for the next two weeks or whatever but now that's out the window.

I'm wearing my mask constantly, haven't been able to travel to see people, Zoom calling, avoiding shops, lost out of hundreds of tiny things I would have done this year and just going on my phone to see it's changed again is a bit of a gut punch. I know that's the same for most people and that way more people have gone through a lot worse, but gosh darn it's been a tough year. I almost think I'd prefer a more authoritarian approach to it all now... Or at least if it was someone other than Boris Johnson bumbling his way through press conferences.

It’s almost like the Tories are doing a bad job.
