  1. Kennard summed up curby nicely.

I wasn't not posting a time, I missed your question Dan, but the times weren't worth shouting abut though.

Still, I went on cheap road tyres, and won, so I'll take that

Next time I'm going to compete in the morning on road legal rubber, then go to slicks at lunch time and run demo class in the afternoon to see what's possible.

  2. Keep the pop ups.

Is there much room behind them? Are you going to get much air in there? I'm not convinced it'll make any real difference, but it might be a cool little project to have a go at!

  3. Bit late to the party, but I'd suggest anything called 'WIM' is probably going to be a bit wet, it just sounds, wet. Meh.

That Capri looks amazing Matt, very jealous. I love a good capri.

Yesterday, I was killing time waiting to go on a night shift, so I tested out the timelapse feature on my SJ4000.

The result may well be the most dull video in the entire world:

  4. I Just did!

That WAS my exhaust, and still is!

I didn't change my tailpipe. my exhaust is 3'' stainless pipe. it got to the end of the car, so the pipe ends. It's that simple.

but yea, it really is just a bit of pipe:

    Went to Curby yesterday:

  5. Scare monger

They'll be great from cold on Ashs car I reckon.

The heavier stuff doesn't seem to need any warm up time, odd, but seemingly true.

Tuffty has 1.11s on his 600bhp S3 and they're savage straight from cold.

  6. Good. There are too many people claiming benefits they don't deserve whilst others work every hour under the sun to try and make something of their lives.

That's not to say there arnt an equal number of people wholly entitled to benefits of some kind, there most definitely are. But as a culture we give away far too much for free to those who don't deserve it.

  7. Cheers Jason :) much appreciated mate.

It makes me happy :) and seems to go better than people expect, which is always a bit of fun.

It does the job for a wrong wheel drive hatch back with building materials stuck to it

  8. Lines on the rear plate are zip ties Dan. Haha. Plate holder broke 18 months ago and I zip tied it in. Been that way ever since

J-rod - I'm only messing. I do think mine will be faster. But there won't be much in it I wouldn't think. Golf is surprisingly rapid!

  9. I feel it's been far too long since I spammed this thread with repeated images of the same car from a thousand slightly different angles. It seems that Jardo and Dan have ruined the excitement of that one for us all

However, Robin came over at the weekend, and we stuck yet more building materials to my car  So to celebrate, here's some random spam

In other news, Jardo has asked me for a drag race, on the, erm, air field. That'll be a laugh :-

  10. old news

I like binky. I love the show, but I think I'm liking the end product less than I did at first.

Fancy interior etc, amazing flip fronts, perfect panel gaps, it's all ultra cool. not my thing, but very very cool.

Keeping 4 seats (seemingly the plan?) giving what looks like a hugely compromised driving experience due to a stupid seating position seems a little less cool though.

Accept it's a 2 seater, move the seats and column back a little, make it a properly good car to drive rather than a novelty.

Rant over. I'm just angry because I'll have to wait months for Ep10!

  11. Pit is always available to you chaps :) I can't always guarantee my time to help, but if you ever want to crack on with anything yourself it's always there.

For Ash's Zorst setup, I think the most sensible thing to do is fit the turbo back first. Given that the stock DP has to be cut out, we're letting a cat into a decat system, and the tailpipe will need tweaking to suit the LCR, I think a full day will be needed for that realistically. Then another early-late full day to whip the manifold off and fit the V4. it's no small job :'(

In other news, BGW-V2 and sideskirts are now on:

  12. Ah cool stuff. Torque is definitely up on most ~300bhp VTEC turbo's I've seen in the past.

They seem to make SUCH good power from low boost, that most are around 7psi or something daft for 300bhp, so end up down at 220-230lbft.

That must be lovely to drive once it's on song :)

  13. All car are different. you drive them accordingly.

The golf gets going much earlier, and stops giving sooner. The civic gets going later and keeps on giving. Both will feel great to drive to their owners, and if they swapped cars they'd both probably feel shit for the first 5 minutes until you got used to the new required style.

What you really need is a turbo like mine  Full boost at 2600rpm and still holding it at 7600  That's a mega rarity though!

Liam - what boost in the civic? makes more torque than most I've seen for similar power suggesting more boost. Smallish TD05? 16g?

  14. Not totally true.

Only certain early AUM engines are eligible for a recall. The rest aren't.

It's pretty much everything with push down coils actually mate. Almost all Leon Cupra, LCR, S3 on a BAM / AMK. All eligible for recall.

They'll only replace OE coils though, so if you have an OE one that's already blown, and you've replaced it with non gen, they won't touch it.
