  1. I've been awake for 24hrs now, only 6 more to go. Does anyone ever get used to working nights? Everyone at my work looks f*#ked! And that includes me btw. Oh well, at least working in a freezer keeps me awke, sort of....
  2. I used to ride around Ashridge forest all the time when i had a proper bike. Best if you park by the bridgewater monument (its free) and explore from there. Easy to get to from the A41 and there is a national trust centre there with a cafe/shop and toilets so its ideal. Also a nice little downhill into Aldbury village if you fancy a pint and if your in Aldbury go up Toms hill you will find a few jumps/bombholes or whatever you people call them nowadays? http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-ashridge Also a bit further up the A41 near wendover is Astonhill http://www.rideastonhill.co.uk/ Hope this helps
  3. Ive not been riding today, but i was out riding in 1997!!! Best bike ever! Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us

  5. I snapped my bars in half yesterday (Azonic double wall, 2 inch rise ) so thats the end of me riding my current bike as im getting a lynx in september and dont want to spend any more on my pitbull. I've got some old monty bars that i was going to use on the lynx but after falling off yesterday i think its best to get some new ones as the monty bars are very old and very light (230g) and i may have put on a few stone since i last used them! Can anyone recommend some really strong bars, preferably the same shape as my azoinc's as i really liked them? I don't care how heavy they are, strength is more important as i'm getting to old/fragile to be bouncing off concrete ! And for anyone thinking about water bleeding their magura i would highly recommend it. Not only is it free and makes your brakes feel better, it also means you only get water on your rims/in the back of your car if you rip the hoses out as i found out yesterday!
  6. Just been been round the father in laws workshop and got it off. Pretty easy once i started turning things the right way! Knocked lock ring off with hammer+chisel, removed all the parts then clamped in vice where the pawls would sit. Big scaffold pole on the crank and off it came no problems Thanks for the advice.
  7. The freewheel came like that on the bike, ive had it from new. Not sure why as there is plenty of clearance between freewheel and BB? Thanks for the advice.
  8. I thought id have to do something like this but wanted to make sure before i started! I think i will replace it with an Echo sl freewheel as from what i have read they are the best?
  9. Surely you can only use the chain method for removing fixed sprockets as mentioned in the video?
  10. Probably the time my chain snapped when i was jumping down a flight of steps in Hemel town centre. Must have looked bad as two lads came over to ask if i was ok rather than just laughing at me, but the worst thing was that i had ripped the arse out my trousers! Having to push a tiny bike with bright yellow brakes through town with my arse on full view to everyone wasnt much fun!
  11. Not really much help as i cant use a removal tool on mine but thanks anyway.
  12. Is there an easy/best way to get my freewheel off without damaging the threads on the crank arm as a removal tool wont work?
  13. I need to bleed my HS33's as i last bled them about 8 years ago and i have the tpa wound in fully to take up the slack in the lever now ! When i heard that people are bleeding them with water nowadays i thought it was a joke at first till i read some of the threads on TF. Im not entirely convinced by the idea, mainly due to my brakes being a good 10 years old now and i cant imagine filling them with water will help the seals much? Is there anything else i can use other than Magura oil, preferably something i could get from a normal hardware store like B&Q or halfords?
  14. Maybe i'll go for the Zoo then,at least then I will have matching bikes ? Thanks for the validation vote, cheers mate : )
  15. Thanks for the advice, I'll stick with tarty. Just got to choose between the zoo and echo,I prefer the look of the echo but think the zoo may be stronger? Also when I got my pitbull back in 04 about 2 weeks later the 05 frame with the "wings" and shorter rear end came out and I was gutted. Not sure if I should wait for the new models to come out or not as it's just my luck the same thing will happen again!
  16. Yeah i will almost certainly end up getting everything from tarty unless i go for the KM1 which they dont stock? Trials-uk sell them but ive not heard anything ,good or bad, about this shop so im not sure? The monty needed a new freewheel from day one, only 20ep and a lockring that constantly came loose and had to be threadlocked in place! The monty also came with huge air bubbles in the magura hoses that are see through, quality bike!
  17. Hello, i currently ride a 04 zoo pitbull but want to go back to a mod bike,i was thinking about getting an echo lite or zoo lynx frame but wonder if its worth waiting for the 2010 frames? Does anybody know when they will be released and what changes they are making? I was also considering a KO KM1 or an Ozonys xr20, i didnt know either of these existed till last week as ive not ridden much since my son was born 4 years ago but im trying to get back into it now before i get too old! Are there any other frames ive missed ? I need something as long as possible as im 6`3, and strong as im not far of 15 stone although i hope to reduce that with a bit riding! Im going to use as many bits from my old Monty as possible,i hope it all fits? Any feedback will be much appreciated. Sorry if this post looks a bit crap,we didnt have the internet when i was at school, probably why its taken me over 2 years to post anything! My current ride My old monty xlite 1999 My old Zero
