  1. My mistake, i was comparing a very old worn out chain with a new one which is why i noticed a difference. But still a 1/8" chain is less likely to stretch as a 3/32".
  2. Yeah i know that but the chain is thicker vertically so the internal circumference of x number of links is slightly smaller on a 1/8" chain than a 3/32", therefore fitting more tightly onto the sprockets.
  3. Another thing to consider is that running a 1/8" chain will be tighter than running a 3/32" chain, it actually makes quite a big difference. I'm running 22-19 with 405mm stays and a 1/8" chain and its perfect.
  4. I have been using a pair of marzocchi mx pro LO's for a few months now and they're still going strong. They are quite light and cheap (around £150 rrp), although they have developed quite alot of play in the bushings.
  5. I didn't really want to bring this up but i've 'sold' a number of items to a certain TJ for somewhere in the region of £100, this was a few months ago and i still haven't recieved a single penny. I believe that he has already sold some of these parts on to other people, i'm really getting fed up of his endless excuses......
  6. A shorter/higher rise stem and/or higher rise/narrower bar would help, but it would compromise other moves.
  7. I use ODI Ruffian lock ons, they're nice and thin and obviously never slip.
  8. He used to use the mx pro's but now uses the new chassis of the XC series. I use the 2008 mx pro LO's with the lock out cartridge removed, and the travel reduced to around 50mm. (To reduce the travel you need to add a spacer to the pumping rods - a section of seatpost or similar tube works well. Just cut it to the length you want to reduce them by. You can go up to around 40mm without needing a new spring.) I also run the air pressure quite high - around 90psi, and the rebound quite fast. Hope that helped.
  9. I've been using the same pair of CRM's for ages, super long lasting and good performance too.
  10. Formula oro puro-super powerful and ultra light
  11. Another advantage of high bb's is that obviously there's alot more ground clearance, which really helps with moves such as hooks. However a lower bb is alot more stable when riding on two wheels due to the lower centre of gravity.
  12. Another advantage of using braided hoses is that they make brakes feel a bit stiffer due to their zero expansion properties.
  13. Maxxis minion rears have a more 'all over' tread pattern than high rollers, so tend to be grippier on most surfaces.
