I use dmr v8's and there the best pedals i have used i did run cages but after bending them and loosing the bolts all the time i gave up on them. Also if you buy a set of v8's new you may get some spare pins, my mate did with his gusset slim jims so dmr may possibly do the same but surely you could just loctite the pins in or something to stop losing them if they were to fall out?

How To Create The Finish Alu Brushed Surface?
Chris Woodhouse replied to N Roach's topic in Trials Chat
Is this the czar you mentioned http://kep.tar.hu/cphun/50550318#2 Also as said wire wool and i used some t-cut (usualy used for removing light scratches etc) it brings off all and i mean all the dirt and grime (you will see the results on the cloth you use) then white spirit to take off bits of the t-cut should look nice and shiney. -
Trialtech Square-holed Front 20"
Chris Woodhouse replied to Zoo_Python's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
From what I have heard the trial tech rims are very light but I'm not to sure on the strength factor also echo 07's are very strong due to their double wall design but this will add weight, I use echo rims and to be honest I haven't really noticed any difference and my old rim was a try all. http://www.trials-uk.co.uk/category.aspx?categoryid=4 Heres the link also they do look very good frames the b3 sort of looks like one of the new G.U's Chris.

Magura 4-finger Hs33 Lever Blade
Chris Woodhouse replied to Big Gay Bear's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Sadly, no magura haven't gone back to 04 style lever blades this one in particular is quite long and as previously said a bit more chunkier mainly because it is unsurprisingly designed for four fingers, hence being a bit longer. -
Just have quick looks in the "rides/locations" thread almost all rides are suitable for beginners every time i have been I've had a great time as long as you can pedal hop I can guarantee you will find something to play on. Chris.

Chris Woodhouse replied to guy.st's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Same, mine felt lighter than my 07 python however this may be because mine now has lots cut out of it now -

Take it apart and run a 6mm die down the metal bit and a 5mm tap through the red bit or just get a hen or 74kingz tpa that is made of metal from tarty bikes. Chris.

Yes the bb7 is made by avid, possibly one of the best mechanical brakes on the market I'd say, had a louise but changed it to an avid and it feels so much nicer but yes hope brakes are also very good but about three times the price and more difficult to maintain. Chris.

Thinking Of Getting This Bike
Chris Woodhouse replied to Zoo_Python's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
That sounds like its going to be extremely nice, all good components i see, any ideas on what colous your getting eg anodized bits like cranks, headset, bb. Chris. -
Not necesarily no, but say you helicoil them and it comes loose you get left with a 7mm hole, if you tap it and it goes wrong then you can helicoil it because you will be left with a smaller hole that you can still helicoil, all im saying is i have tried both methods and i found tapping it to m6 best.
-
I would personally tap the hole to M6 as helicoils can come loose but a thread cant however you will have to drill your brake mounts. Chris.

Landing Drops And Bunnyhops On 2 Wheels..
Chris Woodhouse replied to tris's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Compression landing an also you'll notice when people do land both wheels flat they hang on the rear wheel at the edge of the drop this shifts the weight back so although you land flat the impact isn't in your wrists. Chris. -
Well, on your profile it says you're 22 so I am guessing you're quite tall so perhaps you might want a long frame 1040 or something. Just out of curiosity is your zoo frame long or short? Chris.

What Onza Is Best To Start Trials With
Chris Woodhouse replied to Cia's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
T-pro with Hs33's you're bound to fond one on ebay or here or a reasonable amount. Chris. -
Me and a couple of mates rode Leeds yesterday, we were at this spot some of you mat know as the granite walls. One of the people we were riding with bailed on a side hop and just missed his head, a buck tooth chav walked by with his mates n said "shame he didn't fall on his head, tw*t" Shame the chav couldn't fall on his teeth more like.
-
I would go with a bb7 over a Hs33 but everyone has a different opinion it will vary on what you are used to and sometimes what stile of riding you do.
-
I like the rims, it makes it individual almost all Monty's have white rims just like the out the box Monty bikes. Chris.
-
All you're after is a flange size, like said before your local bike shop should be able to help or tarty bikes simply tell them the hub, rim and hole of the rim or if they are confused of the hub just tell them the flange size rim and hole. Chris.
-
Has the rim ever been ground? If so it may have dents in due to the sidewalls being weak because they are thinner than new, also what rim is it? I know someone who a had a rim about 2 rides and one of the dents at the rim join has already snapped off that rim was a dx32 I believe with one weak grind and he's no basher.
-
I don't know about anyone else but I found the hardest bit of wheel building, the "truing" (making sure the wheel runs straight and does not wobble) so say you were to lace the wheel up yourself and put all the spokes in you could take it to your local bike shop and its sometimes cheaper from them to just tru it rather than them having to completely build it as it is less time consuming for them thus probably cheaper. Chris.
