  1. Wooo! Shes gorgeous Love the rims! Always thought the seat style thing looked a bit weird, but i was wrong, it's beautiful! Congratulations, its a really nice bike, just think of the many (thousands) of hours riding you'll have. Think i speak for everyone, I'm jealous! Enjoy
  2. Yeah i took it off. Its just an old worn tyre.
  3. Thanks for the advice, i tryed on my front rim just now, its not perfect, but think im getting the hang of it. Although the pads im using at the moment are absolute shite! One is a swiss-stop and the other a cheap plastic imitation! Dont know why there different! Any advice on pads? Was thinking of getting CNC backing ones, anyone have any pads they want to sell? Cant afford new ones! Jamie
  4. Thanks, Yeah stupid me! Ofcourse they're the same, i was just a bit confused about the angle of the sidewall, but that can be ground flat. I would grind it myself, but don't trust myself! Know its a pretty basic thing to do, but i've never done it before and it's a new rim. I'd cry if i broke it! Any grinders out there? Or advice? (Already looked at the Wiki) Thanks.
  5. Hi just brought a rear try all rim, however i didnt get one with brushed sidewalls, (Stupid me!) and the braking surface is painted/anodised and is basically crap! The braking surface is also at a slight angle, making setting up the brakes a total pain in the ass. Wanted to know if the rim is the same as the one with brushed sidewalls, and if so would it be possible to grind the rim so that the braking surface is straight/ parallel to the frame? Any help appreciated Jamie
  6. Hiya George, I live in Kirby Cane, so basically inbetween Beccles and Bungay (in the middle of no-where!) Just picked up the frame and forks today! Give me a few days to put it together and i'll give you a call/message. Ive only just got into trials properly, so just getting the basics done, sure you can teach me a thing or two. Jamie
  7. Hi Blake, Sounds nasty. Just a though but, could it be your brake setup? Personally i find that for one finger braking the brake needs to be set up perfectly, as i cant pull the lever with enough force. If the setup isnt perfect then this could put extra strain on your finger when braking as you would need to pull the lever harder. I still use two fingers. It could just be overuse, maybe u've just been riding too much (theres no such thing as too much riding!!). I'd just cut down on riding or ride mellow for a few days to let your finger recover. Get well soon Finger Jamie
  8. Yes, its got a rotor, used to have a Magura Julie but it broke, used to leak like a sieve! Then i overtightened the clamp then managed to split the hose, didnt have much luck with the back brake. Still got all the bits under my bed somewhere, could try and fix it, but cant really be bothered at the moment, i'll save it for a rainy day. My new ride should be ready soon though, so i'll be hopping around in no time. Jamie
  9. Hi, thanks for the replies. Managed to get a photo of my current bike, its nothing special, but i've had many happy hours on this old thing. It's improved my riding over the years, so it can only be a good thing. Hi Ben, Now you've said that they'll be hundreds of questions coming your way, sure i'll need some help when building it and setting it up It looks soooo nice, should be quite different from the old saracen. I'll see how she performs soon. Never heard anything bad about the Echo frames and it looks of a high quality, was smiling for days when it came in the post Hi Dave I can see why its only 'sometimes' in Lowestoft! Saw a nice Czar stock in Streetlife the other day, any idea whos it is? Nice to know theres others out there, I'm definitely up for a ride sometime, just as soon as the bikes built (3 weeks max- just a few more parts needed), I'll talk on msn sometime. I'll get in touch with the Bunagy boys, as i only live bout 4 miles away. Thanks Thanks to everyone Jamie
  10. Been looking at the forum for a while now, so thought i'd introduce myself properly. I'm 18 and live in Beccles. I'm currently riding a Saracen Team Mad (with no back brake!!) Needless to say all i can do is endos! but it keeps me out of trouble for the time being. (Not sure how to post pics?) I've been riding for about 1 year, just learning the basics; trackstands, endos and sidehops. I'm no means very good at these, but i'm getting better! Hey we've all got to start somewhere. Now decided that trials is for me, so scrimped and saved and brought myself an Echo Control frame and building it up. Sure I'll have lots of questions during the build to keep your brains in gear! Just need a few more parts and then i'll be riding soon. Can't wait! Hopefully there are a few riders nearby to meet up with and learn from. I try and ride as much as possible, even if its a 5 minute trip down the road, it beats watchin T.V or the like. Be nice to meet up with some locals and ride sometime. I'll post pics of the new bike when its built, should be a beauty! Thanks Jamie
  11. Hi Neil, I haven’t actually used the Zhi hubs, but from what I’ve heard they’re pretty good. (Have a look on Trials-uk) I’m currently using a Zoo! fixed hub, and the two seem very similar, so I’d say its worth the money. As with the try-all rims, they’re fantastic!! I‘ve got a rear try-all rim, and it works amazingly! Its soooo light (without going to magnesium) but also super strong, although the rims are quite expensive, but I’d say its worth the investment in the long run, as they’re almost indestructible. This is just my opinion of the rims, I’m sure others wont be in love with them as much as me! Hope this helped (a little!) Jamie
  12. Thanks everyone, I've managed to get the tyre fitted (only taken like 4 days! ). Now.... Just the rest to put together. Used Adams trick of putting the tyre in the middle of the rim, worked a treat. Thanks to everyone for their help. Jamie
  13. Hi all, Just been upgrading my bike and now have a rear try-all rim and a maxxis minnion 2.5 tyre, and for the life of me cant get the tyre on, no matter how much cursing and swearing i do! Help! Ive tried starting at opposite ends and working my way around (several times), but nothing seems to work. The tyre is dual ply, so i cant even stretch it over the rim, maybe just brute force is the answer? But im not to good at that either! Has anyone got any tips or advice for fitting the tyre? Many thanks Jamie
