  1. Nice! :S" wud look great in a recycling bin, maybe they could make it into something more attractive like a piece of turd! :)
  2. Did some streching today as when i first got on my bike it felt stiff on the one shoulder but after a few hops and some streches i felt good. Went out riding and boy i felt so bouncy, like the koxx riders when they walk! lol :D Anyway had one of the best rides ever, did a rail gap id been looking at for a while and a gap from the back of a bench to a rail which i had been looking at for a while to. May just be psychological but streching a little really seemed to help. Didn't trap any nerves anyways! which is always a bonus!! :S Thanks guys. :)
  3. Mines short so the mechs out the way but i didnt mean so short that it was only just long enough, i just mean short enough so the mech is pulled forward like this: Cuz if that was guna hit then so wud the frame. Besides ive hit that mech loads of times, its bent and it still works fine!!

  5. I was out riding on sunday and i hopped onto the loading bay but i must have tensed up when i landed and i have had a shooting pain in my arm and shoulder since. It hurts more when i turn my neck and move my arm. I could feel it pulling my shoulder ages ago but didn't think it wud get any worse but obviously it did. Ive done this to my neck before because i tensed while landing off a small drop. Has anyone else had problems like this before, its a pain because i wana ride really bad and im injured from not even falling off!! whats that about!! :o Just wondered if it was just me being wierd or if other people have experienced this too. Should be riding tomorrow though as its getting better :D but on monday i couldn't sit up in bed because it was so bad!!! :)
  6. Singlespeed tensioners seem to be more hassle than they are worth, and once the spring goes once they tend to keep losing tension. Id take a mech any day of the week. plus 3 sora mechs or 2 tiagra for the price of a surly. and the mech will probably last longer anyway. Just run the chain so short that theres almost no mech to hit cuz its pulled in so far. Althought that tensioner does look the dogs lala's :o
  7. Its just being used to your old bike. I was so bad with the length when i first got it, the second day i rode it i was doing a drop gap then a drop and i messed up so i decided id land just before the last drop when doing the gap on two wheels. i completely missjudged the length and went over the bars because my front wheel missed the wall i thought it wud land on. Being my giant it would have been fine, but not with my new lengthy beast, i fell 5foot onto my head with the bike falling after me. thank god for my helmet! :"> just gives you an excuse to ride more, not that ive ever needed one! :o
  8. I just went from a giant to a bt and i cant bunny hop at all. So i learnt to pedal hop, now im going almost as high. Just practice. Gapping seemed easier from day 1 its just a case of getting used to it. I did have an echo stem on with no ride but when i changed to my fsa stem with 10degrees it rode much nicer as it compensated for the bb rise. Just ride it alot and eventually itll feel way nicer, trust me, mine does. :o
  9. That is sooooo nice, i wish i wud have waited an got one now!! :o Trust me for being so impatient! :)
  10. Im having the same problem as olly c. Put my red pads on last wed. absolutly brilliant, no tar smooth rim, couldn't say a bad thing about them. but they got worse and worse through the next two days. i cleaned my rim on friday and they were still bad. took them off on saturday to change back to my zoo's and its ripped chunks out of the pad in places, its like it had some air in and its ripped pieces clean off. i never used tar while they were on (cuz couldn't find any) or had a grind. Im sorry but in the three days i rode them the shouldn't have just dissintigrated in places. I rekon they will come off the backings soon specially as they are falling to pieces, i wish they didnt though because they were sooooooo nice!! ive tried taking some photos of them but it aint working cuz my camera is rubbish. If you wana speak to me bout them then add me to msn (killbobuk@yahoo.co.uk) or pm me! cheers andy ps. sorry bout the essay! lol ;)

    My New Ride

better different or worse different (Y) cant be bothered to cut the steerer again, its hard work. :- cud put the spacers on top though to c how it wud feel. with urbans it doesnt feel or look 'that' long, duno weda i could deal with it being longer though. 1100 is massive!

    My New Ride

the backwheeling is coming together, can still only do about half what i cud do before but theres obvious improvement, its just hurting my shoulder abit. i rekon with time ill be going way bigger than before because it may be smaller but it feels more controlled! yea dave its 1090.
  16. i really like that frame and that set-up looks mint, its quite similar to mine, i was in two minds weather to get the t-rex or the bt. choose the bt but i wudnt mind having a go on urs. lol been as its so close to my setup. Enjoy that beauty! :ermm:

    My New Ride

thanks for the replies, it rides sweet. i could front bump on my giant quite well but its just so wierd. ah well. ive got an fsa stem with 10 degree rise i was going to try if backwheeling didn't get better but im leaving it for the time being. i managed to spend 500quid at the bike show but it was more than worth it. :ermm: I brought the frame, forks, bb (from koxx) lol £52.50 just so i cud ride on sunday!, headset, control booster, rimjams, carbon headset spacers, armadillo (already saved me once) lol. Had been saving for a while for it and my backwheel curtesy of tarty. Oh and i got it from select bikes early on saturday. they had 4 but i brought one and someone brought a blue one at the same time then all they had were a white and red/orange type one. may have sold out by the end of the day cuz i left early.

    Zoo Pads

Ive got em without a grind and they r great in the dry, abit of water though and u mite aswell go home. They wear resonably fast considering i have no grind.
  24. Isis all the way. :D Stronger by miles and some how i managed to break a xt square taper in 10minutes on my jump bike! lol, did try a 8stair set though i suppose. (Y)" the only problem is the creaking you get when the bb is starting to wear, isis run out way faster than square taper i have found. i can only notcie the tinyest difference in stiffness but at least u can be sure that they aint guna round. just get a expensive bb otherwise u will regret it in the long run, oh and dont get a truvativ one, one of my mates has gone through three or four of them!!! :P

    Rear V-brake

seb from brighton has a avid ultimate, xtr lever and heatsink pads on the rear. hes just grinded it an its sweet as! it was raining and my zoo pads were sliding all over (Y) and his were still strong and predictable. but then again it was alright without a grind to. the winters going now so theres less need for a grind. its just when water gets on ur pads and rim. its really personal choice. personally ive never seen the need for a grind apart from in the rain. but its up to u, try it on an old rim, have a few hops and see what u think.
