Urban mammoth

Well i've almost finished my first year at uni and want to get a job to earn some money. I've applied for a few places but seem to be struggling to think of places where I actually would want to work. So far I've applied to NEXT, American Golf and B&Q. Any suggestions, reccommendations (sp ) etc would be great. Got a CV that i've been sending off and then just really been ringing them up and pestering people! I made a new topic because most of the other topics are for 15/16 year olds looking for their first job. (no offence ) any help would be great. Cheers dan

could someone help me find the thread in which someone outlined a rider in photoshop. the background was still photographic but the rider was just a black and white outline. right well yesterday i bought a belkin wireless router and network card. this morning i connected the router to my pc..... everything worked. I have airport on my mac........... that worked straight away no problems........... but then i tried to install the network card onto my brothers laptop.......... 1. the on/off light on it flashes randomly. 2. i went throught the installation process, it says it is connected to the internet and everything is fine and dandy. 3. i go onto internet explorer and it just says everytime, cannot find page!! 4. i've tried it on firefox aswell, same problem. i've even rung the asians up who answer the bloody belkin helpline twice and that dent flippin help. someone on here must know wots up with it. the laptop is a HP pavilion, bout 2 years old but has a slot for the card and everything, running xp. grrrrr i've spent all morning trying to do this. what makes it more annoying is that my mac just does it soooooooo easily and quickly. anyway, any help would be fantstic fellas. cheers dan

well i have now unsuccsessfully tried to log into my msn account for 3 hours. it just keeps saying my password is wrong but it isn't. im on a mac ive also tried logging on using adium, mercury messenger! im on the halls of residence network. ???????????? anyone?

ipod nano, 2gb, black or white get a case for it (loads out there from silicon, to aluminium) i love mine, ease of use especially if you have a mac. but just as good if you own a pc. plug in and it puts all the songs from your itunes library onto your ipod. transfer songs from other ipods to your comp by using ipodrip (just search in google) any problems apple will happily help and fix if it is within warranty etc. batteries last bout 12 hours on my 4gb nano on full charge. they're also reli small and light etc etc. anyway thats my POV why not go to the apple store in the trafford centre if your near and have a play with one? cheers dan

choc chip cookies ingredients: 6oz Butter 6oz Sugar 2 Eggs 12oz Self Raising Flour Pinch of Salt 8oz Choc chips or Smashed up blocks of chocolate tablespoon (or 2) of cocoa (optional) 1. Mix together sugar and butter, then when mixed add eggs and mix it all up. 2. add flour/salt bit by bit stirring it all in as you go (needs some forearm power!!) 3. When mixed add chocolate. 4. butter up a few baking trays and dollop the mixture in thinnish circles however big/small etc you want. 5. put into oven on 160 degrees for bout 12-15 mins 6. leave top cool on one of those wire racks yum yum yum cookies!!!!!

problems occur mostly because people just pull the cable from their ipod without ejecting it from the desktop/itunes first. I have had an iPod mini for 2 years now and had absolutely no problems with it. I have just got a 4gb black nano and it is the coolest thing ever in the whole entire world, i love it. My sisiter has also had a shuffle since june and has had no problems. A friend at uni has just got a 60gb video, it looks really good, however it is rather big. I think she will use the bulk of the storage for files / photos etc. The best tip if you are having problems with your ipod is to download the newest ipod udater from >>>>>>HERE <<<<<< and then restore/reset it. If that doesn't work then just ring apple, they are very helpful and if it is broken and within warranty then they will be more than happy to replace it. cheers dan

there might be a web address on the packaging you got the stickers in, try on theire cos they normally have templates for word/illustrator etc. other than that you might have to just measure it up and draw it in illustrator. cheers dan

well, havig just got back from a very successful trip to morissons, i just thought it would be a nice idea to help any other uni students running on a budget. i spent £25 and the food i have bought will easily last me till the end of term (16th dec). also soreted out my meals for the next few days by getting some freshly made italian pasta salad and fresh fruit salad. i mainly bought tinned items, such as heinz ravoli (mmmmmmmm!) and hunger breaks stuff. also got a loada Mccoys crisps, orange juice, pizzas for the freezer and of course some ben & jerrys ice cream!!!! just thought it might be useful to help anyone out if they are at uni. anyone else had good/bad experiences with supermarkets. or can reccommend stuff to buy and stuff not to get etc etc. oh yeah and for lunchtimes whilst at uni, get yourself down to boots for the meal deal!!! quality. or subway. delete this if you think its a bad idea. anyway cheers dan

i did have a mini and that was fantastic. however i have just sold mine and bought a nano from ebay. ipods are brilliant pieces of kit, they can store all your music in your pocket and then also put your work on to go to school/college/uni. You can transfer music from the ipod to your computer with iPodrip which you can download for free for PC OR MAC from thelittleappfactory.com or something along those lines, just google it and it will come up. as with any consumer product (cars, computers, lights, TVs etc etc etc), there will be a tiny tiny percentage of faulty products, but if you are unlucky enough to get one then apple are super helpful as long as you are within your warranty time etc etc. pros of nano: TINY TINY TINY size, colour screen, click wheel, solid state memory (will not skip AT ALL, because no moving parts), performs seamlessly with PC OR MAC, did i mention the TINY TINY TINY size? it is quite expensize for the amount of storage, but then again this is the most fashionable/modern/cool/up-to-date/smallest/colour screened music carrier of the world! anyway cheers dan
