  1. Oh FFS.

Right. First off - No; Coustsinks are NOT the same compound as 'real cousts' and i doubt your mate has real ones. Its the coustellier's dad who makes the real pads and they are only available through him.

However, coustsinks are still really great pads, I love them and swear by them.

What rim are you using? I have just changed from a VIZ! rim because it held a grind for all of 10mins before going to shit. Now running a Try-All HOLE rim and love it.

Brake? maggies and vees perform differently with certain pads.

    Grind? sharp? light? harsh? smooth?

Pads set square? Bleed sorted? Need a booster?

DONT USE TAR. A decent grind performs so much better than that black crap any day.

  2. I might come down and have a quick look at you guys if that's ok. I can't ride very well so I don't think it's worth me bringing me bike, but I would like to have a look at some technique.

    Thanks

    James

Its always worth bringing your bike out man. If you're heading out give me a shout on 07961749886 (Y)

  3. Nice self contradiction there ;)

Yeh thats why i kept them to differing paragraphs. In just rain (not too cold) id rather just wet hands.

Wet and/or freezing mornings i'd deal with the sweaty hands to keep the feeling in them, should've made that clearer in my first post

  4. My view on the water-proof gloves is similar to that of waterproof socks.

Chances are on your commute you'll sweat, and due to the lack of breathable material your hands/feet will just stew instead.

Id rather wet hands through a good soaking than from sweaty palms.

However, that kinda just covers the wet and not the fact that as winter progresses it get bloody cold.

My way, same as always, put on some latex gloves under your normal gloves. Yes your hands will sweat quite badly, but at least you'l be able to feel 'em.

Or ignore the bike and drive that swanky-b*****d Audi of yours. (Y)

  5. Josh, move down here too!

Lets buy a massive rider crib with a bowling alley and shit. I'm thinking 18 bedrooms and a massive quad garage/workshop for the bikes, swimming pool, hot tub, anti-janner fence, minibar etc.

    You in?

I am so in, SO IN

  6. Since everybastard from where i live has moved to plymouth im down there on a semi-regular basis for some rides.

As said, just keep an eye out on the rides thread and post up if your out for a ride and someones usually around for a roll about

  7. Grab yourself some pallets first. They are easily moveable and can be modified to make any number of differing obstacles.

The rest of the stuff is often more difficult to source and move but i'l put a little list

    Concrete pipes

    Rail sleepers

    Empty wire spools/cotton reels

    Tractor/lorry tyres
