  1. Was a great event! I was absolutely shattered after spending 3 days setting up and riding  The whole event worked out better than I thought it would have done! I really did think Andy had bitten off more than he could chew, but in the end the event was pulled off with minimal problems. I was supprised that we even managed to challenge the big names (DannyB finishing on 20, although Slinger finished on only 2, he is not right  ) and was very happy to see everyone having a laugh! The sections were organised and set-up by a very small number of people [when compared to the number that entered], imagine what could be done if more people got involved if there is a next time! I wonder how long it will be until the UK has man made comps like the ones we all see in the video's from the european championships, worlds etc...?
  2. I currently have a 17" CTX cheap and cheerful monitor and I want to upgrade to a 17" (or 19" if possible with the budget) TFT monitor for this PC. I think a £200ish budget is realistic but im sure that could be stretched higher if need be. I bought Custom PC magazine yesterday (Geek haha) and this month it had a load of nice free stuff on a CD which made it more worth while, well er... anyway, they had a review of 15 different TFT's and suggested the best in test 17" monitor was this at about £220. Anyone else got any other recomendations? The only place I REFUSE to buy from is scan[scam] 'cos they are wankers. I do not require speakers in the monitor as they would be useless and unused due to my already nice sound system. What is all this 4ms/8ms/16ms ect... responce time? I am guessing the lower the ms is, the better the monitor is. I also dont want a dim display. Some TFT's I have seen appear to be dim/dark when looking at them, although I dont know how I will find this out till I have bought the monitor. Once this is sorted all I will need to do is replace my 9600 graphics card with something a bit newer but I think I will leave that for the time being... Help away people :( Thanks in advance, Tic
  3. I use engine braking all the time... I rarely use just the engine braking alone though, I usually use the footbrake before going into a lower gear and using engine braking...
  4. He is a trials rider! Why the f**k does there have to be such a divide?
  5. Looks interesting Matt, I will have to get out on a ride with you and Steve soon and try it out! Im not sure if its worth the effort or if it will help explain it but do you think you could strip the 'bump' headtube down and take some pics of the elastomer system?
  6. You could just look on alansbmx like Mark said to But seeing as you seem to be lazy and want it on a plate the alansbmx website says the new wtp range is in stock on 05/09/05 and all the prices are found on the link above. I have been looking at the '06 four seasons myself...

    Sodaplay

People used to play around on that for hours at college, I never had the patients to do it though...
  8. I expect we will still be building and adding the final things till it gets dark!!! Any help will be great!!! If we do finish early I am sure we could all convoy it to Poole for a night ride or session the tiny skate park that is right next to where the sections are going to be! HAHA
  9. I have been gathering 'obstacles' all day with Andy and a few other people... From about 9:30am 'till 6pm we have been driving all round the place with the local councilor collecting all manner of items including pallets, sleepers, random logs, small cotton reels, oil drums, tyres and some industrials piping. Tomorrow at 7:30am there will be a flat bed lorry and 8 skips arriving. 2-3 cars will be making their way to the field at some point tomorrow along with a couple of concrete pipes and some car ramps. We still have access to the van all of tomorrow so can collect a load of other stuff if need be! Also a couple of big wooden boxes might be travelling from Dan Jones' back garden to the venue. Andy was 'promised' a selection of massive tyres, some safes and filing cabinets but the scrappy now doesnt seem too keen to supply the items, he will be getting a call in the morning to confirm if we have them or not. Anyone coming along make sure you bring a change of clothes! If all goes to plan and we find a way to get water to the field some people might get a bit wet if they fall off (Y)" (Y) Wayne, West Moors (where the comp is being held) is no where near Portsmouth! You want to be heading towards Poole/Bournemouth!!!! Tic
  10. I really like my 306! It handles really nicely and I can get 3 bikes and 3 people in it no problem. It is a 5 door but who actually cares? A 5 door car is more practicle, and you cant see the outside of the car when your driving it anyway! Gav has a 205, I remember him chatting about his 205 in Porthcawl last year. 205 GTI's are rapid, they are quite a common car in club level ralleys and if they perform anything like my 106 and 306 I can see them being really fun to drive! 106=Go Kart :- Also does FIAT = Fix It Again Tomorrow :P (Sorry I had to say it, I have no experience with Fiat's but I have heard quite a few people say they are not that reliable) Right im done with the quotes now but what I will say is: You only passed recently by the sounds of things, why get more than a 1.2ish engine for use during your first year? You know insurance companies will rape you (even with a 954cc 106 I was getting raped!) So for the first year get a cheap car with a small engine and rag the pants off it, then part exchange it after 1 year when you can buy a nicer car! My 106 was screwed when I part exchanged it B) Also I doubt you can actually drive yet, there are so many things you dont get taught in lessons that you will figure out over the next few months. Generally driving instructors teach you how to pass the test, not how to drive, you learn to drive after the instructor has taught you the vital things... Also out of interest how many 106 ralye's have you actually seen for sale? I have only seen a couple in real life :)
  11. Hut Hill is a moto trials venue, a couple of years ago they took some diggerer up there, modified the whole place and moved in a load of sand to build up loads of slopes...
  12. Yeah, if you like sandy banks to ride up and down...
  13. I was gonna be there but some 'tard changed the date so it clashed with the NBR comp :(" See you guys next year, if I make the top 4 and get to ride indoors it will be a miracle. I had to miss out round 3 aswell because it clashed with NASS... :)
  14. :P Spot on Luke! Cant afford a car, still needs to get lessons in order to gain a licence, but is looking into car audio...
  15. Sod riding from Ringwood to West Moors :P :- I will be there for sure Andy :) I am liking to look of blue 20" now seeing as you have put the red 20" in with the red 26", but who knows I might attempt suicude and ride the red route :- I will deffinately come along to help set-up on the Saturday! I'm also free on Friday if you need a hand with anything! (Even if it is borring paperwork etc...) How are you doing for observers/helpers for Sunday?!?!
  16. :- f**k me!!! :- Why would anyone actually want/need that in their car :P Ah well, it brought a smile to my face! :)
  17. And you might be lucky enough to chat to me on the phone :- I suggest looking at Pug 106's... I miss mine! It was like a go-kart (Y) I would type more but its tooo early and I have to be in that dam HPI call centre for 9am
  18. The number of times I have been driving along minding my own business only to be blinded by some cock driving round with their fog lights on!!! I hate people that use their fog lights with a passion!!! :shifty:
  19. :) So you might go out and buy 16.5cm speakers then buy a van that only has space in the door for 10cm's then magically make them fit?!?! f**k the DIY, just buy the right size speaker to start off with! You say a few subs? But you dont want anything that is too ott? 1 sub in a nice box will be all you need, sod getting a few subs you bass junky. Save the money to actually get a licence, whats the point in buying a sound system for your car when you havent even got a driving licence :)"
  20. Also thinking about it you wont be able to buy speakers (especially for the front) untill you actually get the car and know what size speakers will fit!
  21. Yeah you need to get that up on the net somewhen, was a great summer! :)
  22. Sorry this isnt editing the original pic but Danny sent me this on MSN: Click the link only if over the age of 18 :P And after the original roadtrip when Granger came over to the mainland a few years ago this was created. It was inspired by Jon going into McDonalds in Southampton and asking for a McStella while Poynton Trials Lewis filmed him they then got asked to leave by the management :'(
