I have a the Hole rim in front and it's a nightmare with rim tapes. Standard tapes are to thin and the tube apears between tape and rim.

Personally, i think that if you practice street or extreme natural is best V-brake or maguras. If you practice "standard" natural maybe is best front disk. I had the same question arround my mind a month ago when my magura louise lever blade broke.... Then I though to change to HS33, avid bb7 disk or Hope. My Louise was under waranty and my blade was changed for free, but now i'm quite sure to continue with disk, my level is not extreme and i like a lot natural.

No, not really, I apply tar spinning my wheel and maintaining the tar against it. IF tar is hard, it just mark a long line over the rim.

No, didn't heat the tar, you don't have to put lot's of tar in your rims. Only mark!!!

AHAHA! I'm speaking seriously HAHAHAHA! But well, i think that i can explain. Take your rim up, and spin it fast. You have to take a piece of tar and put together of your rim. Your rim don't have to be full of tar, just to mark it with brown / black colour. What do you think about my explanation? HAHAHAHA.

I can't find a video but i can say that obviously it works with V-Brakes for sure. Maybe other person that have more fluent english can explain you how to put tar in your rims.
