Just tried setting up my new pair of TNN LGM's on my rear brake, and it seems the adjustment up and down isn't enough to set the pads square to the rim, almost as if the bike was made for a 25" wheel? I assume you cant get the mounts upside down or anything silly like that? it's definitely set in the frame correctly and square as the quick release has work a helpful mark in the frame and it's sat in this perfectly. Not sure what else could be up with it?

I did wonder that, considering for it to be -10 in your brake lines it'd have to be a good -12 to 15 or so air temperature with the work the fluid is doing warming it up, heat from your hands etc. Unless it's stored outside with no shelter in which case there's an easy fix... if you're riding around at -15 you need your head checked imo

I didnt even read that as negative to be honest, I remember watching the vid and the kid is pretty dwarfed by the bike, I bet a lot of older trials riders couldn't do what he does on a bike 1.5 times the size it should be, I don't see how it's a bad thing?

For what the uneducated opinion is worth, I got some to bleed my brakes with (one of the 2nd hand ones I got had an oil bleed) and it seems very thin, achohol/solvent like rather than (thicker) watery, feels slightly oily to the touch, and dries really quick if you spill it everywhere Brakes do feel very snappy, at least as responsive if not moreso than my V brake setup, and a few pumps with it seemed to free up a veery slightly sticky piston, although that could be for a number of reasons besides it's lubricative properties. Comparing old style HS33 (water) to new (phluid) it's much more responsive, although that might be a difference in the levers, it's all I have to compare unfortunately.

I'm not sure to be honest, enlighten me? Bottom bracket is rather low but it is an early frame And the bent top tube is cringeworthy in terms of idealism but I can't see it bending too much or snapping really. Basic engineering principles I can deal with, it's the application of them to the specifics of bikes I'm struggling with so far

to be honest as a country we're completely ill prepared for any kind of harsh winter, if it was that hard to operate at -5 north russia, canada etc would be screwed! Have you ever heard anyone, let alone an entire company, keep spare wheels with snow tyres on for their car?

I'm pretty sure most people will agree but like you I'm new to all this too, so I'll just mention the service/infrastructure etc www.tartybikes.co.uk has is incredibly impressive, didn't have any huge issues with my first order which is where a company will really shine or fail to but a couple of niggles with the payment system which was not their fault and something I had a question about regarding the order were dealt with very quickly, in a friendly, informative manner. I've actually recommended to someone outside of the trials scene that they should look at their ordering system etc as an example of how to do things! edit: Can't do clicky links in the new members section? Allow me to rephrase! It was always my belief that this damaged seals as you say, it shouldn't be expensive as long you buy an inexpensive bottle though, dear chap.

Alchohol is a solvent, will most likely eat at polymer rubber seals after a small amount of time. If you can clean permanent marker off of stuff with vodka in less than a minute think what it'll do to polymer seals in a year

See what you mean about the receipts, very cool well thought out system. Something that so many places overlook (including my own place of work, we have so many issues with orders!) and really is an important baseline, very impressed overall with the service etc

I did actually notice/was impressed by the way you can add notes to orders, and I assume they get through to everyone as it's picked/packed/sent out etc, so many problems in many companies could be avoided with a good system like that.

Gotta hate it when they change things, I did in fact notice it was you just now... the pending orders bit looks fantastic, in that I knew it was you that took the order as the relevant notes about what you changed this morning are there. Something which is usually very hard to communicate (I work in retail too when I'm not at uni) It does have my grips down as a "blank" item though for some reason I noticed? not sure if that's a loading error my end or teething problems.

In regards to the freezing temperatures... a lot! Dip it in liquid nitrogen (-200 plus whatever it heats to while you're setting up the test rig ) and the strength of steel drops to less than a 10th of its original, okay that's a tad colder than your british winter but you get an idea of the scale I wouldn't be surprised if you lost a good 10-20% of the strength at 0 to -10
