  1. im going to order some new 4 bolt clamps later today or tomorrow and also some pads, ive looked through the pad review section but cant find anything on the echo rim pads , has anyone tried these out ? would not mind knowing if there worth the money, thanks karl
  2. its a tight fit on my frame with the fat rear rim, i have half worn koxx browns and the slaves are pulled back as far as i can get them and the brake feels perfect. i was dreading getting new pads as i dont think they'll squeeze in, which is why i was thinking about the tensile offset mounts. but i just looked at the echo ones you mentioned and they do sound as if thy've got some clamping force behind them... may just buy the echo clamps and file down whatever new pads i decide to get...
  3. im going to buy some new mounts anyway as the bike was second hand and the mounts are pretty battered looking... which ones im not sure though. ill see if the problem goes and if not ill try different length bolts (though im sure thats not the problem). cheers for the help anyways.....!!
  4. bolts are all good dude...... i reckon the mounts need replacing so might buy some new ones... do tensile mounts come with new c clips? or any mounts i.e echo etc?
  5. possibly its a very close call as to wether their touching or not , although i do understand how this can effect the brake not clamping as good. is this down to wear and tear? would new mounts be in order? no no, not threaed the frame... athough that did happen to me when i first got the bike, i ordered a helicoil kit and retapped all 4 threads, not there super duper strong!!!
  6. the c clips look ok and their not bottoming out, very nearly though..... oh and im a lad ........lol oh and before anyone else calls me a bird , ill just say here i AM A LAD....... built like a rugby player and not fat lol.....
  7. just a quick question people,..... i have the standard magura 4 bolt mounts on my echo frame. there set up great , bolts as tight as can be , and evenly tightened top and bottom , however the slave cilinders still have a habit of twisting under heaving landings ... do you think maybe the mounts are slightly worn (can this happen?) , and losing clamping force? or maybe its the fact im quite heavy (17 odd stone). was thinking about maybe some new tensile offset mounts? any ideas? cheers lads....
  8. nope its a brand new chain recieved today..... and i used the split link...... no stiff links at all...... i dont suppose the jockey wheel on the tensioner has any affect does it???mine is straight and tension is good, so cant imagine it could...
  9. so a 3/32 is a standard size chain and a 1/8 is a slightly bigger chain , but any of them sizes will work with my freewheel fine???? and the gussut tank chain is 3/16 and is the biggest but not compatable with my freewheel??? thanks for the help guys
  10. really???? thats what i thought......hope the kmc 710 kool chain works....
  11. no its not a half link chain and the freewheel is fine... i got a friend to slowly pedal with the front brake dragging to find where it was skipping and as the chain rolls onto the freewheel at the back it begins to lift off then it will pop back on before it reaches the top of the freewheel. almost like 2 very stiff links rolling over the teeth. (but there not stiff lol... happens constantly). i got no idea really ... everything is setup great and nothing is worn. im thinking of sending the chain back and buying the kmc kool chain , this is slightly thinner , but i hope more compatable????????
  12. hi, ive just recieved my gusset tank chain today , how ever once fitting it on any pressure when i pedal causes the chain to lift off the teeth on the rear freewheel and skip like mad. i have a middleburn 22tooth chainring up front, tryall 108.9 freewheel on back and a sprung chain tensioner with a single jockeywheel on it. its all lined up correct and the chain ring and freewheel have good teeth on them. have a bought the wrong chain? its 3/16 size , and really chunky, maybe its not compatable?????
  13. ummmmmmm....... i know this is gonna sound dumb, but when i rode bikes a few years ago , a bike was a bike, now its all mod and stock...whats the difference? stock just a factory spec? and mod , a randomly built spec? dont shoot me lol!!!!
  14. just wondered what gear ratio people used nowadays.....? i used to use 22 front 18 rear , do people still use this ratio/ or have gears changed abit?
  15. thanks for the offer mate, but i dont drive so its a bit hard for me to do that. i think im gonna order that kit next week and try it myself. thanks for offering though, karl
  16. it seems the helicoil kit maybe the best option at the moment..... if im correct the bolt thread size is m5.... so ill need a m5 helicoil kit like this? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Helicoil-Thread-Repa...%3A1%7C294%3A50 i hope this is the rightsize????? cheers
  17. i just rang a friend who said hes heard of helicoil kits too, do you have any idea what size i would need and where i could get them from? if i have to order one from the internet then so be it, but im hoping some local shop may have them. thanks for your help
  18. there are about a couple threads at the bottom left . its gripped them but i dont dare tighten it no more . it feels soft as if the last threads are gonna give. what size tap would i need ? what the next size up ? and where would i get them from? thanks
  19. just got hold of a second hand echo urban... gets me back out riding ... however the top left brake mount on the rear of the frame (4 bolt mount) has stripped its threads. i did not even tighten it much before it went. sounds like it was knackered in the first place. god knows how im gonna fix it. basically im not going to have a rear brake till the threads are sorted. anyone got any ideas? thanks karl
  20. as im a new member, i cant yet post on the wanted. im going to be getting back into trials but cant buy a bike for 6 to 8 weeks time , when i get some more money coming in. however as a long shot i have a ps3 40g with games and accessories. anyone interested in a swop ? anyone got an oldish bike lying around? ps3 is 1 year old , like new condition... i have not really used it much apart from watching few blurays, and i have recently purchased a pioneer bluray player. i have killzone 2 (metal tin) , cod 5 , gt5 prologue, littlebigplanet, race driver grid. also have official bluray remote, and un used official sony headset with dock. all boxed and excellent condition. let me know........
  21. lol all these people will remember me as a girl....... used to ride in just lincoln itself, since i was 15. but gave it up 3 years ago, now im ready to get a new bike and start again. i should still be riding around lincoln as most of my mates still ride here.... once im all up and running it would be good to meet a few new people though....
  22. lol, im not a girl.......... i knew i should not have used peggysue. my nickname is peggysue and my last name is pegler. last time i used peggysue was on xbox live and i had blokes sending me rude pics so changed it lol. hopefully that wont happen on here either...................
