  1. lol ..........did look there and theres tons, god knows which are good and which aint. was hoping people can tell me .....
  2. right i currently have an old fsa crank upfront with a 22tooth chainring and an 18tooth eno freewheel at the back. this is perfect gearing for me and im happy . however im soon going to be buying new cranks chainring and bashring for upfront but it seems my choices are very limited to middleburns, if i keep things this way. i was looking at the middleburns , new middleburn chainring and i think its a tnn half bashgaurd. are there any other cranks ( strong, isis, take 22tooth rings etc) that would do the job? i know if i was to put the eno upfront on a crank i can have a smaller bashring, and a fixed 14 tooth sprocket on the back, which would save a bit of weight and give more clearance, which alot of people do but someone said that freewheels upfront take more stress and abuse this way. is this true? anyway..any advice would be great so i know when and what to start looking for !
  3. wondering what helmets people wearing nowadays? i think its time to invest , i hate potty style ones, just the normal ones for me........... wheres the best place to buy from? cheers
  4. i will let people here know the brake is set up perfect, the bleed is perfect , the grind is still perfect and nothing is contaminated. the pads are working there best now and have settled down there wear rate. basically what this comes down to with these pads is my weight , weighed myself yesterday and im now 18 and a half stone. when my mate tried my bike the pads worked alot better with him as hes smaller than me. infact he runs cousts and wants the yellows next lol . i just need a pad with a bit more hold for my weight thats all ........
  5. to be honest dude it looks just the same as the atomz one and the tensile one with the gold jockey wheels, which i purchased. they do a good job and are fairly light. you could buy yourself the tryall one or save a few quid and buy one of the other 2.
  6. it says on the website that yellow and white are firm, so i would have thought both were for grinded rims...... as good as the yellows are (see my pad review) , i need a bit more hold as im heavier person than some lol. ive been on about 5 rides with them so far and they've worn about 2mm on a fresh grind. they are working as good as i think they possibly can, and i dont wanna cheat and use tar 'a' because thats admitting you have a crap brake, and 'b' because tar and rain dont work together. i would rather get a pad that holds better for me in the first place. i have tha cnc backing yellows so its just a new material ik looking for. i thought yellow and white were different compounds but there most likely just colour or the website would state otherwise. the yellows will do fine for now. im happy but ill have to try something different once they've run out......
  7. cheers muel!! oh well looks like that rules out the whites and reds for my next pads
  8. just a quick question........... are the heatsink yellows and whites the same pad just different colour? ive also read that there are the heatsink reds. can you buy the reds? and are they any different to the yellows and whites? cheers
  9. i reckon trials like any other sport, is only as dangerous as you want it to be! if you push hard your gonna increase the chance of you falling off and hurting yourself . even the smallest of moves can hurt you just as bad as the bigger ones . over the years ive fell off phone box's , snapped chains going for gaps, snapped my bars off a 14 foot drop, but none of them hurt as much as the other day when i stoppied down a grass hill and the front brake locked up too much and i went over the handle bars all the way down the grass hill. ended up with really bad grass burns down one side of my body lol. i would just have fun learning the sport in your own time, and just be safe and wear a helmet !
  10. im running my stock with around 25psi upfront and 30 psi in the rear . feels quite comfortable for my weight(nearly 18stone)
  11. noticed there is one for sale on here, just wondered if there any good or do they leak alot? cheers
  12. lol, well compared to my mates bikes it is, and the geo on it feels quite old school. but its a bike, and i can chuck it about .......its all good lol!
  13. just noticed ive become a full member so this is my first post somewhere apart from new members section. thanks admin!! Pads: heatsink yellows in cnc backings Time used: 2 rides , about 10 hours Rim used: tryall Grind: ' same day as pads arrived' fresh medium grind Brake used:rear hs33 ,water bleed , no booster, tensile offset mounts What is your opinion of a working brake: not to bothered about alot of bite but need to hold really well, and have a half decent wet weather performance Review: so far not to good, it took about 10 mins for the pads to start screaming at me which is always a good sign , however about an hour later they started to hold good but not great, easily slipping. and they aint changed since. im hoping they will either improve after a few more hours , which if not then i may try a booster, but theres not alot of flex anyway. but i must also mention im pushing 18 stone so im a big lad. my koxx browns which are now upfront hold alot lot better. ill update this thread in a couple weeks time to see what happens!! edit: well ive been out a couple mor times now and the pads have finally started performing better. they are stupidly loud and the bite has remained very good. the hold that was not there has gotten about as good as my koxx browns were so its more trust worthy now. it pissed it down last night and my rim was soaked but they kept on biting pretty good. overall the best pad ive used up to now but im looking into the other heatsink pads now as i want more hold as im a big lad.
  14. now there is an eno freewheel on the bike!!! old school
  15. its good that ive gotten back into trials, keeps me fit whilst having fun......tried to upload a pic of my old school echo im riding but could not figure it out.... might try again seems i aint tired yet
  16. close lol it was £32 for the body, 7 for the lockring, and 5 for the seals , and the eno cost me £20. the teeth and pawls and springs were in good nick with no visible wear. once i stripped cleaned everything and whipped it all back together it really did feel and look brand new. just over £60 in all. but worth it ......
  17. 26 inch my friend!!!!!!!!!! im 6'3 and although i can ride mods i feel to hunched over and cramped and i feel restricted. more room on a stock, and more possibilities
  18. hi again people , right my old school echo that i bought to get back into riding had a couple of the brake mounts rounded off so i bought a helicoil kit and redid all 4 mounts. works a charm, now a friend has offered me a more recent bike frame but his mounts to were stripped. he did not have a helicoil kit so tapped them to the next size up m6 and drilled his brake mounts and booster to suit. what i want to know is if i was to take the frame could i screw some helicoils straight into the mounts to bring them back down to m5 size like normal or is the tapping kit that comes woth the helicoil a specific kind of thead pattern where the helicoils could not really go straight in? and if so could i run my helicoil tap through the mounts again to fix it? hope you understand my aim!!! thanks karl
  19. lol i did go and ride pretty well today.......that eno feels so much stiffer and trustworthy than the shity tryall i was running.......lovely jubbly
  20. its ok now........... just found a link on google that took me to a servicing page from this forum. looks like i was right..... just that when i took the old lockring off the seal was never there so i did not expect a seal should go there. now i can go ride ....yippppppppppppppy
  21. hi people , i ordered my eno spares yesterday which have just arrived. it was the main body, a new lockring, and a set of 2 seals. the seal i know i needed was the blue one that covers the ratchets and pawls which fits on the back. however there is also a smaller black one which came. this one i have no idea where its supposed to go as i did not have it on the eno when i got it. its smaller in diameter and the only place it looks to fit is behind the lockring over the threads. i need to make sure and tarty bikes aint answering the phone. maybe they shut weekends? does anyone know where this little black seal fits on pleeeeeeeeeeeeease , im dying to go out and ride!!!!!!!
  22. must admit that was pretty funny.......really were some painful looking falls though lol
  23. cheers guys i think ill buy some cheap circlip pliers, will make it easier to service it now and again...
  24. hi there , ive just ordered the replacement parts for my eno freewheel and im looking at what the actual tool is i require for unscrewing the lockring. i know a hammer and screwdriver can do the job but looking at the lockring im replacing , it does not do a good job to the metal lol. is it some kind of 2 pin spanner? ive seen park tool pin prong thingy's but im unsure wether the ends are pointy enough too fit snugly. or maybe there is a specific one to buy? thanks karl
