  1. Right i have been looking at buying a new frame and i have narrowed it down to these 2. The Onza Limey 3, http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?pr...;category_id=14 Or Zoo Piranha, http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?pr...;category_id=14 At the moment i own a phase 1.2 which has been heavily modified. It is just the frame now, i have changed everything on the bike and now want to take the plunge and get a new frame. I want to know peoples opions on these frames and also any ideas if the Geo would be easy to get to grips with. Obviously both have pros and cons, such as the Piranha is £100 cheaper, etc. Any help with making my decision easier would be cool as i should have enough for the Piranha in 2 months and enough for the Limey in 3 months... Cheers
  2. Hi, I started off with a Phase 1.2 around 5 months ago and its an awesome starting point. Since then i have heavily modified it. Now it is just the frame which is standard. Good way to look at it is, if you like trials you can modify the bike, finally ending by buying a new frame. If you dont like it you haven't lost too much. I bought my Phase 1.2 off ebay for £120, and it fits me ok and i am 6' 2" Hope this helps.

  5. Neil Tunnicliffe. Ride in Burton with the guy regulary and what can i say, "simply awesome". Gives me all the inspiration i need
  6. Tarty bikes sell a replacement top cap for these forks. £8 incl postage. So will probably get one soon. Will get the old one off somehow. Did the top cap up tightish to stop the headset from moving back and forth and it seems to have bedded down now so hopefully won't need a new headset.
  7. Could try bleeding the brakes. Some air might have got in the system if the reservoir wasn't full before it happened.
  8. The chris king headset come with the bike and i dont think they will carry the warrenty over to the new owner. They would probably want proof of purchase or somethin. Anyway got my new TrialTedch forged stem now and have put it on and it fits perfect. Looks pretty good now as well. Although i come to adjust the stem today becuase i did the top cap up too tight to try and stop my king headset from rocking and the stupid "special" top cap they come with has rounded off Have emailed Tarty and TrialTech to see if i can get a replcement. Feels loads lighter on the front which is always nice!!
  9. Sorted i think!! I emailed Tarty last night about a stem which i liked the look of on thier site. A TrialTech one by coincidence http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?pr...;category_id=41 As your can see from the spec this has no info on the clamp stack height. This is why i emailed them and an amazing stroke of look it is 40mm. Now i can have a matching stem for my forks, althought 30mm longer and 2degree less rise. Thanks to all the ideas i got thier in the end.. Thanks again
  10. Only other option is a new stem. Need one around 100mm long, 20degree and 35-40mm steerer clamp. Any suggestions??
  11. Thanks for the fast responses, I dont mind buying a new headset as the chris king is neary dead. Just dont know if i could save 15mm from going from a standard headset to an internal one. Anyone know. I dont really want to buy a new stem as this will hinder my progress and dont really want to cut corners for my healths sake.
  12. Hi All, I have a problem!! I have bought these from a friend for £50. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?pr...;category_id=40 Please take a look. As you can see, a bargain i though, now here is the annoying problem. The steerer tube is cut to fit my friends frame and is 15mm too short when on mine. This means the top of the forks is 15mm too far away for the top cap to screw in. Their are a few ideas which i have come up with to solve this: 1. Buy a new stem with a clamp size of around 35 - 40mm (the one at the moment is 55mm and around a 19 degree rise and 90mm long). 2. Buy a new internal headset in an effort to save 15mm of fork tubing, means getting rid of the old standard chris king. Has anyone got any other ideas and would it be possible to save 15mm in the stack heights of a standard headset to an internal one. Please help!!!!

  16. I was going to get some fhat pads but they have to be set up perfectly square to the rim which i cannot achieve. What other pads would be an alternative. I have just put some Rockman pads on, the blue one. Hopefully these will be an improvement when i go ridin tonight in Tamworth.
  17. I also have another problem when setting up my maggies which is pushing me towards disc. I cannot get them to sit square against the rim, think this is because i have a very wide rim. I have already fitted the tensile offset adaptors which enable me to fit the pads but as i say they wont sit square against the rim and at the moment on a slight angle.
  18. Been using Rockman pads and i haven't bought any part of the disc brake yet as i am just gathering the info of what i will need.
  19. Hi all, Does anyone know if the rear disc mount on a mad phase 1.2 is international standard and also if i bought a hope mono trials disc brake for it would i need an adaptor to fit it. Plus what size rotor would be best to fit this set up. I ask because my newly ground rim is eating brake pads and i think long term getting a second hand mono would be better. My rear wheel has a hope pro 2 hub, with 6 bolt for disc. Thanks in advance Nick
  20. Just bought a new rear wheel, with pro2 hub and echo rim. Cant wait to get it on the bike Should make a big difference to my pedal kick as the engagement on my original wheel is pants..
  21. I ride a stock at the moment. Gear ratio of 20t to 17t.
  22. Hi All, I am pretty new to trials and have been contemplating the huge choice of chainrings and sprockets available to us trials riders. At the moment i am using a 20 tooth up front and 17 tooth on the rear. Does this combo sound ok? What are you guys using at the moment? What is the best or most common gear ratio? Any info would be great. Thanks in advance Nick
  23. Have a look on Chain Reaction Cycles. They have some Raceface Good and Evil grips in either Red, Black or white and they are very grippy and look good aswell. Not to mention they are dirt cheap at the moment. Here take a look http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=123
  24. I do like the look of the new Piranha frame but could do with a new rear wheel first as the freehub engagement is pants. I think the frame might still be on the to save for list though. My brother has an Adamant frame and i like the feel of that. I can pedal kick it easier for some reason. Would the long piranha frame be similar to the adamant?? Will get some pics of my bike on soon...
