  1. Other than the fact that the windows still have a mind of their own and randomly drop approx 50% of the time when unlocking the car, it's good  Need to get my hands on a Dremel ideally to play with this stealth intake but that's a minor issue. I've been away for the past week so not had a chance to play other than replacing the pollen filter in 5 mins I had earlier. Fingers crossed for more playtime soon.

Have you sold the Ibiza now then? Guessing it's beyond being worth/wanting to sort it out?

Ahh heard on some VAG cars that you can get windows you open and close by holding lock/unlock, that's annoying haha. Have you tried changing the settings somehow to disable it? May be the easiest way to go about fixing it?

Nope, will either fix it and sell if it seems worth it/cheap enough otherwise I'll split it and scrap the shell. :)

Yep! Really wasn't a dig mate. I wont begin to air my thoughts on the whole episode with that motor or we'll have another 3-page row between people - seems it's a pup and i'm absolutely gutted you've got lumbered with it. Tart the f**ker up, flip it and spend the money on making the Caddy real nice and useable?

Hahaha cheers for that, already got plans for a mate from Crawley who works at Halfords with me, (he's a car businessman outside of work and seems pretty knowledgeable with things) to come down to quote the caddy for welding. I've been driving her round the block every now and then, and not once she hasn't started first time even after leaving it for a month over December! Quite impressed to be honest.

Someone crashed into it the other day...

Yeah ^ forgot to mention that, just trying to blank it out altogether :)

Thinking of a manual diesel merc c220 estate in the not too distant future...

  2. This time Chuck, which I've only just gotten into. But this is not the first time. They've also spoiled Breaking Bad and The Office.

I'll just have to hit next episode faster.

Ah yeah I know what you mean, I always just click next episode as soon as credits come on.

    Bit annoying I agree.

  3. Clutch is going on the seat too, having to drive her carefully. I don't think Dan fitted a sports clutch when he changed the flywheel which is probably why.

Not looking forward to spending more money on it :( Needs a new handbrake sensor now too as it thinks it's on constantly.

A lad at my work has offered money for the seat which I'm considering taking, and using to get the caddy going. Or I could sell both and look at getting an older merc estate, I want something practical but not boring... Any suggestions?

  4. Dont you go Mountain biking with your Dad in the Alps all the time?

Yeah one week a year, got one planned this year too :) I meant as in where my Sister is actually coming too haha.

  5. Cheers for the mainly positive comments regarding my last post. It was my mates 18th Birthday meal yesterday so allowed myself a bit, didn't even enjoy it that much.

Was pretty funny finishing off a 24oz burger when the two other lads only managed 2/3rds and I was still hungry. So yeah all it does is just makes me hungry and sleepy.

I only call it ripping a cone cause that's what they all say, feels like I'm in the sorta situ that Dan had with his old uni mates. They're such good guys and I get on with them well it's just a shame they all have smoking bogging them down.

In happy related news, I used to be really slack at work and dunno what's happened but I seem to work a lot harder now and enjoy it too.

And what I find really strange is that I feel in an emotionless state all the time now, I don't necessarily feel sad- but I feel almost like a blank page when I'm by myself. Weird, ah well.

Also just booked time off work next month for a family skiing holiday, which should be cool. Haven't been on a family holiday for 7 years.

  6. Was at my mates last night who turned 18 at midnight, Him and another mate of mine were smoking weed all night and ripped a cone at midnight. Feel pretty good that I didn't have any.

Haven't smoked since New Years, dunno if I should on special occasions though.

  7. The guy that posted it on the Facebook page wrote it and said the names of locations have been changed, one person also pointed out rear facing seats in the pug but he proceeded to say in scenarios like that attention to detail isn't #1 priority but still, makes you think.

  8. It's been a pretty good little car so far , but needs some care at the moment....

Also what kind of mpg do people get from

Their 1.9tdis? Mines an atd and will never go below 52, but never above 60.... Seems fairly low?

I used to get like 70mpg on motorways but since I fitted a new turbo it seems to get 60 if I try hard... Averages 45-50 haha but I ain't complaining she's nippy :)

Maybe I need a Dan service on it.

  9. I agree with what you're saying completely. But everyone works differently and gets affected by different things, and depression is often tied down to attention seeking. It's quite easy to tell when someone is and isn't doing it for attention.

For example, having an instagram on a separate account that has no relationship to you in the bio/name etc whatsoever isn't attention seeking. But maybe that's just me? Maybe it is just part of growing up?

My ex whom I was with for 4 years between the age of 14-18 I believe had very mild or even no depression but she did cut. The person I'm talking to now has shown me pictures with chunks cut out of her arm, and has an ongoing eating condition. Yes she's 17, but I know about her past and can very easily see how it's affected her present.

Yes I know what you're saying JD, I'm at the last half year of my teens. But I feel I'm in a position I may be able to help and I'm calling to those who've dealt with similar situations or even are in the situation themselves now. I wouldn't be writing this if I had any doubt whatsoever about the fact she has an eating disorder or not.

  10. Okay, I'm sure we all know- or have known someone who has an eating disorder or depression.

No idea if there's any other threads like this but I thought it'd be handy to have this thread here, because it's a delicate topic and we have a nice little community.

I've experienced close friends and family suffer depression, and I've also watched them suffer eating disorders. My ex had depression and used to cut, it used to bother me but now I see it as a commonplace thing- attention seeking or not.

I'm currently talking to a friend, who so happens to be a girl. I've known her since the start of this year and she's an amazing girl, she used to get a bloated tummy and they eventually led it down to diary/glucose food. But over time she's gotten worse and worse, and she gets counselling but stopped that on the basis that she had "someone close to share everything with" which so happened to be me, she sends me pictures of her body daily (ribcages/hips/thigh gap)- which admittedly I'm not complaining about. She has a very nice figure.

But this is getting silly, she's obsessed with calorie intake. And today she's said to me that she's on -800 calories (from working out for 2 hours), and has asked if she should eat popcorn or not as it'll take it down to -600 or so...

She starts medication tomorrow, anti-depressants. My ex was on these and god I've not experienced so much stress.

Does anyone have any help/advice for me? I know I can't really do anything as it's a physiological thing but honestly anything would help. She's even got an instagram where she posts "thinspo" stuff- never of herself though.

Some of you may tell me to drop her and run, go do one. When someone I care about is down I'll do everything I can to try and make them smile because knowing I made their day makes my day 10x more.

Oh and likewise if any of you want to talk about your own depression/eating disorders please feel free to do so.
