  1. Looks very nice, was looking at one myself, is it a lot lighter overall?
  2. I got an onza bird 2010 a while back, there great bikes for a newbie, weight means nothing if your new as the 'weight game' is more when your jumping up huge stuff, eBay as said is a great option all depending on your budget, or the forums sale section is great. My bike is for sale if your interested pm me
  3. Any other good ones other than Tarty 'We dont sotck parts' Bikes.co.uk? Nearly everything I'm after is out of stock unless I get poo brown colours lol
  4. Cheers for the link, and yes used, will strip and have a good scan fir cracks, the seller assures me it's good in that aspect.
  5. From what I hear and read Nitro will strip it but you have to wash with water after, and you can get it halfords for £5 the water bleed no idea mate, I no hs33s can be water but will have to ask someone else mate
  6. Cheers guys, this Nitromors kinda bad for your skin then? is it sold at local DIY? (edit: Halfrods sellit .. how cool is google ) I want to paint it because its now my frame give it my touch sad as it may be its my 'new' frame so want it to look nice.
  7. Ok so i have bought a nice GU 09 frame but its been used and has a LOT of scratches on it, and some ruff areas, so I have been looking on the internet. I have found I need to strip the old paint (obviously) and then if its galvanised... does that mean a silver frame with no 'finish'? but what do you use to strip it? this site says use 'thinners' as I work for a chemical company I can get some seriously strong thinners but will they destroy the metal at all? then the deep scratches..... will they sand out you think? Then I just use metal primer, few coats of desired colour (when I pick) and some sealer. Any tips hints or bits I have missed out and need to no please help
  8. speed the truck video up, would be funny as lol, the little lad likes your models
  9. I'm drawn to the echo, but lynx is nice too will have to wait till x-mas anyways so plenty time to decide
  10. They that good and I need a lighter bike cos .I'im pewny, the Bird is a great bike to get into it but its like lifting a mini everytime I try jump/pedalkick hehe
  11. got a pic? and how much not posted? got day of wed can collect?
  12. what sort of price we talking and yes, good nick? (its a trials bike so dints and scratches are a given)
  13. Ok, so I think its time to get a new frame, I have seen an echo light, short 20" silver frame on e-bay for £200. Its from select bikes - they any good? But my main concern is when I look on Tarty bikes, there only £30 more, (I can choose white, which I like more) but there's a long and a short.... for a newbie this means nothing to me so anyone want to shed some light please. Another little thing is, I have an Onza 2010 Bird which would be striped down and put on the frame, I have maggies so would need clamps and a new tenslise 60 click but would my other onza parts fit all ok? Cheers in Advanced, Mark.

  18. didnt go to work, instead i will ride a bike today :D

  19. Not at all, thank you for your input, and the time taken to write all that I think drilling and threading stuff is a little out of my depth at the moment but deffo keep the rest in mind for future, as we all are it would be on a budget so cheers. as for buying a second hand better spec' bike, I wanted something cheapish from a shop so if anything went wrong I could take it back, I looked on ebay and most stuff close to me was crappy or not what I was after. I don't see the problem in buying new and upgrading, then its my bike not someone else's old one, just my mind set
  20. Cheers for advice, will keep this in mind, when you say 18-2 ratio... what does that men :$
  21. a metal pan could work, I use to put coal in it for a sheesha pipe, they get very hot, tin and glass will just brake/bust/melt you need to be heating just over 100c I think
  22. Bitumen is normally transported at elevated temperatures, in liquid form, to allow ease of handling. I would try heating up to a very high temp and stir a bit, try let it set. Its naturally a solid product and is mixed with 'other' stuff to make it gloopy or liquid, heating should evaporate the 'other' stuff and when its cool it will set? Might not work and I might be totally wrong, worth a try with a little bit?
  23. Ok after trashing some parts, getting flamed for 'clogging up the forum' I'm back I am going to be upgrading my bike soon when I get some monies but I just wanted to no what bits are good and/or fit. Snail Cams, I read they do fit onza 2010 and some people saying they don't... which is it? Hubs - Fixed or free? and freewheels (I don't fully understand this but what I do is: Fixed hub has free wheel on back, free-hub has sprocket on back and free-wheel on front on the BB?, please correct me if I'm wrong) Rims, are the ones with the wholes in worth it? I wont be going to the shop with a wedge getting all at once but just some stuff I have in mind bit by bit and wanting a little advice please
  24. It's solid, can jump up and down on it, the blue pallet needs a chock under it, going to fix a Barton to it tomorow.
